Under-staffed, phone is always just busy, and can’t tell you when or if something will ever be in stock. No waiting list, awful customer service. Just the worst of all worlds really.

Deceiving and disappointing experience for the launch of their latest release, of course the hype and demand is high but they should at least be more systematic with proper communication done. The watch was already β€œsold out” before 6am when the store opens at 11am??!! Poor customers who queued blindly for this, worse still most of the people who got it are just scalpers and resellers who do not appreciates the watch hobby at all…

Please ignore the bad reviews about the Swatch X Omega launch event. I apologise as a Singaporean about the way some of us act. Swatch had made it really clear that it would not allow overnight queuing, I was at the swatch boutique yesterday overhearing that they would begin an official queue at 830am. However, as Singaporeans can't stand feeling left out. The 'queue' began at around 5am, and by 'queue' I mean a mass of mostly inconsiderate people, attempting to flip a cheap watch at 2 to 3 times its original price in the aftermarket. I apologise on behalf of all of them to the employees at Swatch, who are obviously experienced with handling 3 to 4 customers at once usually. It is understandable that this is overwhelming. Please do not add a bad review just because you are sad you could not get your plastic watch on the first day of launch. Even in the watch community, the news had only broke out a week before the event. Some of those queuing probably don't even know what a Speedmaster is more than 2 days before the launch. Swatch should not be expected to be able to adapt to such a sudden influx of customers. Do not blame them. The day before, when I went, the assistants were very approachable and helpful, some of them knew their stuff really well.

Headed over mbs after ion to check out the situation. Equally bad but perhaps just a more organised Q estimated to have 400-600 people in line. The shop itself was closed and with posters of "out of stock" all around. Nothing against the shop itself or the shop assistants here but I cannot understand why swatch would hold such a marketing gimmick during times of covid. At the end the watches are in the hands of scalpers trying to make earnings out of it. And I cannot believe some people are actually willing to pay 3 times the price for it online. And no, I am not a scalper, I genuine liked the watch and wanted it for myself. I like the planet theme, the detail on the battery cap and have always been a fan of omega seamaster and speedmaster. At the same time I like the lightweight and colourful designs of swatch. The collaboration to me was a very exciting one. I do not buy that swatch is unaware of the crowd it will attract, if anything it feels more a marketing strategy to gather attention. If not, they would not intentionally put the watch on sales in the shop only, and not shared information on the availability of it online until the crowd gets massive and chaotic. I called Swatch before the actual day and was told that there will be sufficient stock and that I should not come early to Q. Perhaps some would say I am naive but I genuine thought it is better to be socially responsible in times of a pandemic. When I've arrived the Q was ridiculously long and chaotic in ion and in mbs less chaotic but equally long stretching to the other end of mbs from swatch. C'mon swatch/ omega, its a good collaboration. Have some faith in your own design/ idea and there's no need to resort to such cheap tricks for publicity. People who admire a good watch design and theme would naturally come forth to purchase it. At this point I am not longer concern if I get my hands on a watch, should it be available online, I may get it. If not, it's no big deal. I am just disappointed in the organisation itself. The organisation simply present themselves as an organisation that has no social responsibility creating such a chaos in the name of marketing. Totally no regards to the mall management, the covid situation and people who truly appreciate the watch.
