★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Saw from some reviews that Swee Choon offers delicious tim sum at good prices. And one of the highlight in their tim sum menu is the Swee Choon mee suah kueh.
In fact, we can hardly find mee suah kueh on the menu of most of the tim sum restaurant in Singapore.
But after trying the Swee Choon mee suah kueh for the first time in Swee Choon Express in Nex, I am very dissappointed. The mee suah kueh was not at all flavourful. Maybe it is the intention of the chef to add minced meat in the mee suah kueh to make it even tastier. But its a pity that the minced meat was not grind properly. The broken bones mixed together with the minced meat were the result of poor meat grinding!!!
As for their yam fritters, prawn and banana fritters and of course other tim sum, it is also of average standard.
To add, their price is a bit pricey. Not worth the trip just to try out the mee suah kueh!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Most of their steam items CMI except for char siew bao which is ok. Har gao and siew mai and xiao long bao very small, expensive and not worth it. The rest of their steam items like chicken glutinous rice and beancurd wrapped something are just downright bad. Salted egg custard bun filling is cluggy - not flowy. Porridge is bland.
Their fried and baked items generally fare better though sometimes taste stale - like they're overnight reheated and not crispy. Carrot cake is exactly like what you get from coffeeshop but more expensive. Beware of the char siew soh - if you takeaway, they will sneak in a broken piece or two. For a decades-old dim sum brand, the standard is pretty subpar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Variety at their express outlets are not as aplenty as their main at Jalan Besar, but it’s enough to satisfy your Dim Sum cravings. They have most popular items - from fried to steamed. The outlet here within Food Republic at Nex is pretty popular, especially during breakfast hours. Quality is okay. Price slightly on the higher side. Service is fast. Most items available in morning. Porridge is great!
