β β β β β had an excellent time at Syun β the food was great and the staff (special mention to Phillip) were very attentive, in making recommendations and ensuring that we were comfortable. we enjoyed the food, e.g. sashimi was fresh (fish just came in that day) and the staff advised us on the best way to eat each dish.
the standard staple that comes with the shabu shabu hotpot was udon, but Phillip recommended that we use some of the remaining stock for porridge, which he prepared for us. it was also my birthday so they had specially prepared a sashimi "cake".
had a great time and would come again!

β β β β β Menu items are quite limited. Food are good and very quiet. Ambience is good for couple but not for large crowd as limited space. The only star did not give is because the price of the sashimi 3 kinds was more expensive then in website.

β β β β β Can someone show me the 6-/7- star option for this place??
I had the fortune to have received a complimentary birthday meal at RWS. I originally wanted to go to Ocean restaurant, but after looking at the menus, opted for Syun. What a great choice!
The starter was an onsen tamago with ikura and uni (love!) It was at once refreshing and indulgent, especially the sweet uni!
The main was supposed to be a wagyu beef, but as i don't eat beef, they changed it to swordfish for me. This was truly wonderful, particularly their own savoury relish. Only three slices, but it was definitely a good thing because it made me linger on each bite.
The assorted sushi was fresh and chewy, with the tamago providing good contrast after two pieces of sushi. Loved the freshly grated wasabi.
They surprised me with a salmon don birthday cake. How cute!
Dessert was green tea ice cream with azuki and a black sesame mochi.
But above it all was the impeccable service. I was tucked away in a corner, but - and maybe because i was in the corner - i felt very well-taken care of. My tea was topped up regularly, my soy sauce was poured for me twice, everything was served with a bow!
Definitely coming back again! Ichiban!

β β β β β Japanese fine dinning available only for dinner,, an experience on the different flavours within each dish. For lunch, they have sets like their delicious bento.
For any first timer, the waiter can give a good recommendation based on the number of diners. Donβt be mistaken for the small portion, the idea is not to fill your stomach, but to experienced each of the order youβve made, so be prepared to make a few orders. It is somewhat like the Japanese version of Spanish tapas.
And we have since went back again and again. These are Japanese finery to be experience.
Pricing are above average for this very fine dinning. Very satisfying. Enjoy!

β β β β β A refined Japanese restaurant at Resort World Sentosa. The sushi set for lunch was excellent, fresh sashimi fish expertly rolled up. Ambience is nice and great service by staff.

β β β β β Supposed to be fine dining (they charge like one) but the food was disappointing, the uni-pudding was overwhelmed by sesame taste. Sushi combo is low-end and too much wasabi in between. Besides, the wasabi taste like those packaged one instead of freshly grinded.

β β β β β Maybe ok for Sentosa but compared to mainland Japanese restaurants Syun is not exactly fine dining. They have some strange variations. Eg adding foie gras and butter to Unagi. Totally covered the original taste of Unagi. And they added a lime. Who does that ! The wagyu set is the most expensive for lunch. The wagyu is hardly marbled and came out cold which is terrible. The dessert is the best. Nice portions of strawberry mangos and a red bean pastry.
