Had lunch on a weekend and the restaurant was filled with customers but not overly crowded. Ordering of food was done via the QR code and food was served about 15-20 mins later as the tempura was freshly fried. The tempura was good and the varieties given complemented each other. I liked the prawn, egg, squid, mushroom, pumpkin tempura the most and felt that the sea eel tempura was just ok. The set meal comes with rice and costs about $20-$30++. You can top up $3 if you want to change to cold/hot soba or $3.50 for cold/hot udon. No plain water was given.

We visited on Sunday afternoon, after lunch time There's no queue and we were shown to our table pretty fast and the staff is friendly. We noticed that there's only two staff manning the place and seems a tad shorthanded. The drinks and food were served promptly. The Tempura is light and doesn't feel oily, also it's pretty crispy too. The soup is standard Miso paste made. While this is not a sushi/ sashimi joint, the raw fish tasted a tiny tad pale... it's still good, but just not that fresh. I would certainly come again for the Tempura.

Freshly fried tempura 倩ぷら crispy, not oily, because each serving is placed on a sheet of oil absorbing paper. The sauce is not too salty. The staff are willing to help but are not as organised. It takes a while to get their attention if we need anything. Desert is a little disappointing.

Best tempura I've had in Singapore! The batter was light yet crispy and the portion was super generous. While there was a relatively wide selection of tempura items, my favourites were actually the butternut squash tempura, and the soba noodle. Service was excellent as well! Would highly recommend if you like tempura, otherwise you might find the selection limiting (obviously).

Just had lunch there today. I’m not very knowledgeable about Japanese food, but I thoroughly enjoyed our shared order of Prawn & Vegetable Tempura set, Chicken Tempura, and Hokkaido Flounder Tempura. Restaurant manager was very warm and friendly. He even indulged me with an extra bowl of their tasty and generous serving of miso soup because I did not want any rice. Their serving portion was perfect. (Apologies for the poor photography)

The tempura here is really good, batter is light yet really crispy. It goes really well together with the sauce and assorted salts that came with it. The seafood is really fresh and you can taste the sweetness of the prawns and scallop. The udon is chewy and goes well with the tempura. Really good restaurant in VivoCity.

Very good quality tempura. Rice sets are not over the top and produce served in ala carte dishes and sets are fresh. The tempura batter is light, fluffy and not too thick. Each item is individually dipped in batter and fried on its own. Sit at the counter to enjoy the view of the chef cooking! Even the squid tempura is scored before it is dipped in batter to ensure it is cooked evenly when fried, giving way to a luxuriously soft texture and mouth feel. I would recommend having Ala carte tempura dishes, and a main Hot Inariwa Soba. The broth is clear, light on the palette, ensuring that the flavours of the tempura take centre stage. I would avoid ordering the Mentaiko Seaweed, unless you eat it with a large serving of rice. It was extremely salty, but works well either with tons of rice, or only when mixed in clear hot soup. Definitely not to be eaten on its own.

Lives up to expectation, looking at the exquisite interior of their restaurant. Ordered the Makino Special Tempura which included a range of seafood served atop rice. Prawns were nice and fresh, and their squid was bouncy without being too chewy. Their rice was the authentic Japanese short rice, though a little more tempura sauce could have been added as a whole. Overall, a great meal!
