Although I've been eating the snacks from this stall for ages as a Tiong Bahru resident, I've never thought of writing a review. That is until I went for my regular indulgence and saw the stall owner fretting over a negative Google review by a Mr Robinson. I've read it and felt upset as the comment was unfair and unbalanced. I therefore feel compelled to share why I have patronized them ever since moving into the estate 7 yeas ago. Granted they won't win any awards for the most tidy stall in a hawker centre... but what do you expect when you visit a stall where working with flour/ dough and deep frying are all confined within a space probably smaller than your bedroom? This is also one of the few stores remaining that bother to painstakingly make their fritters by hand. The end product? A fritter that sells for less than a dollar. This small, family-run store serves up some of the most fragrant, fluffy you tiao and butterfly I've tasted. Their fritters are not dense or chewy like bread... their snacks are airy and perfectly fried so its crispy on the outside and still nice and fluffy inside. The queue that forms in anticipation of the freshly fried goodness is testament that I'm not the only one that feels this way! There is another stall that serves identical snacks in Tiong Bahru market. All I can say is that when I'm craving for some fried fritters and if this store happens to be closed, I'd rather eat something else. To my favourite you tiao stall- don't stress over this kind of negativity! Remember for every negative review you have so many more regulars that have supported you over the years. Thank you for continuing to keep the tradition of handmade you tiaos, butterflies and dao sar piahs going!

whole stall is very dirty & greasy even though it is supposed to be a deep fried stall but at least try to make it tidy & neat to have some basic hygiene but didn't bother at all. food is just so-so with most items quite bland. not recommended at all.

Crispy youtiao and freshly made hum chin pan with the most tempting aroma! Friendly stallholders and affordable prices, this is why it is my favourite stall to get the best youtiao and hum chin pan!

This is my favourite you tiao stall at Tiong Bahru hawker,I always patronise when I visit the hawker centre. Savouring crispy you tiao with a hot beverage,it is so shiok! The mother and daughter team also provide very good service, despite having a queue to buy their stuff, the queue moves fast! I sometimes dabao you tiao to eat with my home cooked Tau suan...yummy! Just heat up in the air fryer but nothing beats eating it piping hot at the hawker.

oh my gosh what the fish this stall is selling & the stall owners' attitude towards foreigners. food is bland with their sweet or even salty items. I'm an adventurous food eater when it comes to things that i never seen before but gosh.. this is worse than the korean sannakji dish.. don't even mention about the stall owners lacklustre can't-be-bothered attitude towards doing business. or is it because I'm a foreigner or tourist that may not come back to this area again that they can treat us or rather me, transparent.

I had a great experience eating this Tiong Bahru Homemade You Tiao I have just read a few nasty reviews regarding this stall, finally I decided to write my side of my review about them. It is definitely NOT TRUE!!!! what the nasty reviews given to them, you have to be a long term customers and are regular, eating their lovely traditional snacks. This is a business that been running for more than 20years - a family business from generation to generation. Personally I have been eating their homemade you tioa since 2006 but i didn't had a chance to write a review about them till now after I suddenly read several nasty remarks about this shop. Well you can't stop others having their own opinion or experience but I m not sure whether the nasty reviews only ate once hmmmm only God knows. As for me, I love their homemade traditional you tiao. I have seen how this humble small shop make their items with passion and it comes down from the heart is like making it for family . I have seen mother and daughter working together to bring this Tiong Bahru homemade You Tioa to this lovely estate. The taste and texture of this You Tioa is slightly crispy and soft which I love it so much especially eating with hot porridge for my breakfast . Not like most You Tiao shop I visited , too hard and oily not to my liking . If you buy back home , I will advice you to bring a thermal bag at least you still can experience the taste yet still warm. Best is to eat on the spot!!! Get ready your kopi, Tea , hot bean curd or porridge ?? yummy. If you decide to bring back you will experience more chewing texture because is not hot but still warm depend on whether you buy and go home straight . If not please bring along a thermal bag.?? Some nasty reviews mention their shop dirty , come on..NEA regular check the area . Their stall rated 'A' by NEA- NEA is not blind you know. Definitely- NOT TRUE!!!! Do go down and check out their stall and try their You Tiao. They not only sell You Tioa but they have butterfly and sweet and salty 'Hum Chi Peng' pardon me if I spell it wrongly hehehe? Look out for this lovely lady - the daughter . I usually call her Cherry easier for me to remember as a customer because she always have this lovely rossy cheeks appear on her face due to , I think the cooking area is hot , heheheh she so sweet so dont mind at all I call her Cherry but her actual name is Sihui. She so friendly and she makes you feel like a friend rather than a customers. Look out for her and say hi to her ya?❤ Their items are selling at $2 for any 3 choice , you can mix and match. Operation Hours Tuesday to Sunday Time : 5.30am to 1pm plus Close: Every Monday. Do go down and try for yoursleve and whatever the nasty reviews they received is totally totally NOT TRUE!!! See it and taste their food for yourself. Do support the local hawkers especially during this pandemic times , dont let this Tiong Bahru Homemade You Tioa Stall disappear. Singapore need more this traditional snacks alive especially when you see New Generation are taking over from their parents. Hawker life is not that easy and yet we Singaporean loves to eat especially traditional snacks!!! Thank you all for taking your time in reading my humble review. I also have upload some photos, do enjoy them. Stay Safe, Healthy and Happy Always. God Blessed ?❤

My favourite to go place for You Tiao. Love how they still maintain the traditional taste. My late father used to buy from them every Sunday as additional lunch snacks and my nephews really enjoyed it. Now is my turn to continue this tradition bring home you Tiao every Sunday :)
