β β β β β Ordered my favourite dry noodle at Song Kee Fish noodle. They're generous with their chili, which I liked very much. Noodle quite Q, like Teochew style (which I missed so much). Can always patronize without feeling bored.

β β β β β We had the mee hoon kuey (5/5 stars) and pork satay. Long queue for the MHK but it was worth it! The pork satay was also delicious, very tender and with the right amount of char, but the peanut sauce left me a bit disappointed.

β β β β β Satay and chicken wings! For the satay please ask for the pineapple puree. Wings are juicy.

β β β β β I always see a lot of people going for the Ban Mian, but I go for the succulent broth of the Prawn Noodles and awesomeness of the Bak Chor Mee

β β β β β Love the teochew porridge. Price may be slightly on the high side. The pork belly, Cabbage and hei bee hiam is a must try. Open only 4 days a week from 11am to 2 pm

β β β β β Wanted to eat the Song Kee Fishball Noodles but too bad it was closed when I reached at 1800.
Decided to order a plate of Char Kway Teow instead. Surprisingly good taste Fried Kway Teow!
Will review other stalls when I return for other food here again
Went back again the following day for lunch and dinner. Lunch I tried Song Kee Mee Pok. I came with very high expectations of this well known noodle stall, but was disappointed by the bland taste and not hot soup provided!
For dinner we had Mee Kia from JUN noodle stall which to my surprise; tasted much better than Song Kee and cheaper too!

β β β β β This hawker center is as old as toa payoh town itself. Has alot of nice food but not as vibrant and popular as it used to be. Nostalgic for those who have grown up in toa payoh town. Popular stalls here ate the fried kway teow and fishball noodle.

β β β β β First time at Lorong 5 and
Dajiβs $3.5 fried chicken rice, Wang Wangβs $3.5 century egg pork congee and the bbq chicken 2 stalls down is so good. These would be my go-tos and my will come back to Lorong 5 for them ?
Dessert stall with warm and cold desserts were great too! Apparently they sell Tauhu Goreng (deep fried fresh toufu with cucumber and drizzled peanut sauce) operate from about 12-11pm at night to cater towards the evening crowd. SADLY the Almond paste (something we look out for all the time)βs only available on Saturdayβ¦ they also sell this Interesting Tapioca dessert with coconut and Gula Melaka - quite a rare find but nice! It does get a lil gelak after a while though so do get to share.
