Delicious Claypot rice! Cooked upon order! Nice charred taste and chicken nicely seasoned! Can call ahead to place an order! And they serve a super shiok pepper pig stomach soup! Only 4 dollar per bowl, with lotsa ingredient and super peppery!

Have been patronising this shop and the Holland village one for quite some time, this shop have salted fish and if you ask for additional ingredients they do top up quite an amount of ingredients to be honest. When people usually comment it’s not nice it’s because you don’t know the trick of claypot rice, you have to add a little bit of oil, lots of black soya sauce and let it cook further, don’t immediately eat it. Until when you know that the rice is burnt at the bottom to crisp, that’s when you can start digging and mixing the rice to perfection. It applies to the Holland village claypot rice shop as well. But one thing to highlight is that the pig stomach soup from this shop is outstanding, don’t order any drinks, just order the pig stomach soup and drink together while eating the rice. It tastes satisfyingly spicy.

Takes 20 mins as they cook only on order. It comes without sauce which you pour in yourself. Nothing wrong with it. But I think it’s not any better than the more famous ones.

Considerably one of the better claypot rice spots in SG. Love the fact that it’s really cooked β€œtraditionally” over charcoal. Standard wise is quite consistent unless it’s a very busy day. Do expect a little bit of wait, but can check out the other good food there while waiting ??

Last week, my wife and I went a place for dinner that was not quite the normal dinner place for us but a place we go quite often for late Sunday lunch. The store she wanted to eat at was closed. After looking around, I thought of eating the claypot rice which we had not eat for a while but was afraid it would take long. So, I checked with them. Nobody in front of me but still takes 20 minutes to wait. So, we started with the watercress soup. After about 20 minutes, the pot of rice came. It was still steaming hot. Very quickly, my wife poured in some oil and black soy sauce. They have a telephone number you can call to order in advance which is a good idea but I am wondering if anyone had ordered in advance and went there unable to find a table. :-) This is a stall I would come back to eat once in a while.

This is one of the best claypot rice in Singapore! The taste is smoky and full of flavour, just like how a good claypot rice should be. Their chili has a spicy kick too. Dark soy sauce and oil are provided so they can be added according to one’s preference. One tip is to call them to preorder before heading down to avoid long waiting times.

What’s the best on raining day? Hot soup? Can’t find a soup stall in this hawker center. Walked a few round and settled for clay pot rice. Owner is chatty and friendly. Ordered pig stomach soup and clay pot rice with added ingredients. Waited 15 mins. Faster than expected. Soup is peppery spicy and on the sweet side. Rice abit undercooked. Ingredients not very well flavoured. Not enough marinating. $13 is not economical thou as it is stalled in the estate.
