Generous portion of mee pok. Always a line for this popular BCM stall.

I recommend you to try the mee tai mak soup early in the morning the fried fish wantons is also very good MUST TRY??? The handmade fish cake is another signature which you wonโ€™t be able to find anywhere else. They are very fresh, juicy and packed with flavour. The bouncy handmade fishballs are not the rubbery, โ€œsyntheticโ€ kind, a rare find these days. Personally, we feel Tomโ€™s soup version is a class of its own. The soup is infused with sweet fish flavour and doesnโ€™t make us thirsty after eating (so you donโ€™t need to worry about being overdosed by Ajinomoto). We also always order additional fish cake and wontons on the side.

The highlights are fried wanton, fishcake and fishballs which are really flavorful and tasty. The mee pok is slightly thinner than the usual which I preferred more Al dente. The sauce is on the lighter style and you can opt for vinegar.

Fishballs are amazing. Soft, full of fish, yet bouncy. Clearly handmade. The noodles however wasnt the best I've had. Lacking in flavour slightly and I would've liked them slightly softer. Sold out by 12+PM on a Sunday.

Happen to be running some errands around Ghim moh food centre and decided to drop by for lunch. Chance upon this stall that is selling fishball noodle with a long queue. There were easily 8 people in front of me. Queue wasnโ€™t moving that fast, waited for close to 20mins before it was my turn to order. Ordered their meepok dry which was SGD$3.50, unfortunately the fried wanton was sold out and I was given extra fish cake instead. Apart from that, my bowl of noodle comes with fishball as well. The fishcake which I believed were handmade, were tasty. Noodle was nicely cooked; texture of noodle was springy. Taste wise, I personally think it was just average, the taste of the vinegar was too overpowering.

Heard so much review so decided to queue in line with about 10 people in front of me. Ordered a $5 mee pork dried. Came with extra noodle and ingredients. Not disappointed at all. Fish ball and fish cake very soft bouncy. Everything is fresh. Next time will order the standard bowl instead of add noodle cos I felt the taste a bit diluted.

The ingredients, especially the fish cakes, were great. The mee pok, ironically, was not tasty enough. Portion was generous for $3.50. Sellers were polite, hygienic and accepted e-payment.

Fantastic life-changing fishballs from Tom's cityzoom mee pok here, possibly best fishballs I had in Singapore in recent memory. I came to try the stall next door (chun seng) because it was featured on Daniel food diary...but with old estates like this, you trust the queues more than the (largely paid) reviews by food bloggers. I'd yet give chun seng another chance (feel sorry for them, snaking queues for Tom's cityzoom but zero customers for chun seng during the entire duration it took for me to queue and eat) but ended up going for the $3.50 dry mee pok here. The fishballs were unevenly shaped and very clearly and obviously handmade, every bite was full of the fishy goodness and none of the starchy floury taste that plagues the factory made ones. The fishcake and the deep fried wantons were equally memorable. Mee pok was cooked Al dente and their default chili level is a little spicier than normal, so if you are sensitive to chili ?๏ธ strong suggestion to ask for less chili. Definitely would be back. If this review was useful, hit like so more people can see it (and join the already long queue that runs all the way to the dustbin outside)
