Valley Wing - 22 Orange Grove Rd

The stay was amazing, and all the staff were courteous. Mr Raja from the valley wing was especially attentive, made us feel very comfortable and welcomed, he was a great delight.

We booked a suite in the Valley Wing for 2 nights, and enjoyed it tremendously. The Shangri-la is a family-friendly hotel with enough activities for kids at Buds (chargeable) and Splash Zone (included in the stay). We decided on the Valley Wing for a more lavish staycation, and it did not disappoint with free flow cocktails throughout the day, evening canapés, and a really nice breakfast at the Summit Room. Breakfast can be had at The Line, but I would recommend to have it at the Summit Room if you prefer steak and caviar at breakfast like me. Overall, we had a great experience, and service was excellent as one would expect from the Shangri-la. My only feedback is that they don't do too well at dealing with the reservations for breakfast and evening canapés. Half of the time, we were made to wait for our table at the Summit Room and Valley Wing lobby lounge, because they were full, despite having reservations, which was particularly inconvenient with a baby. The staff let some guests get their table in front of us even without reservations after they protested, while guests like us who followed the guidelines and made reservations prior were made to wait. I asked the front of house about it, and they just said that they were sorry, and that I just had to wait. Not the best response, in my opinion, and it really defeats the purpose of having a reservation system in the first place.

I booked a Valley Wing Deluxe room under the book early and save promotion. This stay was done to propose to my girlfriend. I notified the hotel of the occasion beforehand and ordered a chocolate cake for an additional $40. The cake tasted amazingly rich in chocolate and definitely one of the best chocolates I've had. The room is huge and had dated decor, but not in a bad way. I enjoyed the retro luxurious decoration. The afternoon tea tasted great. We enjoyed the tuna sandwich, the raspberry tart, the scones and the madeleine most. Alcohol is available all day in the Valley Wing so we indulged in some drinks. The evening canapes tasted great as well with high quality food. We enjoyed the parma ham sandwich and the smoked salmon paste sandwich most. Breakfast was delicious and we wished that we could stay there for a longer duration. Covid19 has deprived us of a more relaxing breakfast. The most impressive aspect of Shangri-la Valley Wing would be the service. Every single staff member we met have been very service oriented and genuinely happy to help, with some even going beyond their call of duty. I would like to commend the following staff members: 1) Noel, one of the butlers who called me the day before the proposal to offer help to decorate the room and surprise us. He was genuinely eager to make our stay memorable. Despite his day off during my stay, he coordinated with his capable colleagues to deliver a flawless decoration that left both my fiancée and I stunned. 2) Carlito, one of the duty butlers on our stay who sent me texts to coordinate the decoration effort with me. The execution by his team and him were precise and immaculate. 3) Sufian, the afternoon butler on duty. He got our room decorated while we left for evening canapes and got the job done impeccably. 4) Edward Chew, the bartender who manned the bar during evening cocktails. He provided excellent recommendations for cocktails and offered refills proactively from 7pm to about 9.30pm. His service effort contributed greatly to our enjoyment of the Valley Wing benefits. 5) The staff members serving the afternoon tea in the Summit room. They were professional and provided excellent service. In conclusion, Shangri-la Valley Wing has excellent service and we enjoyed our stay here on this important day of our life. We would definitely recommend Valley Wing to people who are planning anniversary celebrations or even a wedding proposal!

Good stuff. One of the best staycations we have had. If you have afternoon tea and canapes included, they start on your first day, so book seats and arrive early. This can't be changed to your departure day which we found out the hard way.? Free flow drinks and snacks are awesome. Evening canapes were dissapointing, but comes with free flow drinks, so who's complaining. Book your splash and pool times before you arrive! On check out day check in your bags and book pool time to lounge out by the poolside bar. They stay open till 7 while the other restaurants are closed in the afternoon. Lifeguards are chill about re entry as long as it's not overbooked. The staff are hands down the best in Singapore. Super friendly and engaging. They will really go out of their way for you, from check in to check out. Props to the pool bar and front desk staff. You are awesome. Thank you for a great stay!

Valley wing: great place to stay. The staff are friendly and there are attentive to customers. The rooms are kinda old. But it’s clean. Room is big. Breakfast and the tea time etc are Great. Very near to orchard too. It’s walking distance. Plenty of space to roam around outdoors. The trees, plants, flowers, fish ponds…. Are all very well maintained. There are life-vest for the kids @ splash. Splash is One of the highlight at Shangri-La stay. So those with kids should really try it. Thanks to covid, the numbers of ppl to enter splash is reduced which is a nice thing because it ensure the quality of the experience (ie. not crowded. Plenty of room for the kids to run wild). Tv is small. The sound bar is useless.

Check in was really quick and hassle free. Rooms were slightly dated but was well maintained and spotless. Drinks at the lounge were amazing, probably the only hotel with a wide variety of Alcohol. Food quality of Afternoon tea and evening canapes were just average. Breakfast was great in general though there were some misses. Staffs were all pretty attentive with the exception of a bartender who was slightly rude. There was an incident when I made an order for a hot drink and requested for dairy-free milk. The bartender gave a 'tsk' and said he has already keyed and sent the order for the drink with dairy option. Understand everyone has their bad days but he should have been more professional.

I'd like to pass on my utmost gratitude for the outstanding hospitality that was shown to my wife and myself by Bella at Summit Room during our stay from 19th to 21st Dec. We first met her during our breakfast on 2nd day and she greeted us all with a friendly smile, and the service she provided was first class. When we revisited the restaurant for high tea and canape, she still recognized us and maintained top notch service. Even she got busy at certain point, she remained calm and never lost a smile. She showed total dedication and commitment to her duties and treated every guest to the same high standard of service whether the groups are big or small. How Bella kept up her calmness, enthusiasm and energy levels is beyond my belief. She truly is a credit and valuable to the hotel and she fully epitomizes what 5 star service is all about. I will not be surprised if other guests paid similar compliments on her. Please pass on our thanks to her once again for her tremendous efforts in making our stay such an enjoyable one.

Had an excellent staycation here for my wife's birthday on 24 January 2022. Staff were warm, professional and attentive. From sending over a complimentary cake with balloons to the room to even adjusting the amount of liquor in our cocktails, we were very well taken care of. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The Valley Wing is the wing of our choice moving forwards.
