Went there for the dinner omakase menu to celebrate a close friends birthday. It didnt disappoint! Every piece of sushi was beautifully made & a unique burst of flavor. The A5 wagyu beef was to die for. Tender & melt in mouth with a variety of flavors!! Even the desert - yuzu ice cream and fruit platter was amazing.. I had forgotten to bring my friend his cake as I was in a rush but Rado was so kind to arrange slices of heavenly cheese cake with candle! The atmosphere was cosy ambience was great and chef + service was friendly & full of smiles. As I left, giddy from all the wonderful food & sake, I was already thinking who I can come back with again ?

A lovely place conveniently located in town but very discreet. You would never know what lies inside from the unassuming barn door entrance. But once you enter and the barn door closes, you are brought into another world. With nice soothing yet unobstrusive music and a friendly ambience, it makes for an excellent place to hold a private casual 7-8 person function. Fine Japanese cuisine is served in a private dining setting but without a stiff formal atmosphere. The chef is extremely competent and friendly. You never realize how time passes as you enjoy a good meal and time with friends. It is like your private space away from home. And the restaurant promises more surprises in its offering of cuisine as it is omakase with premium sake. I understand premium fruit is also coming. Oh I forgot to mention, the meals are really value for money and lunch offers great meals like wagyu sandwiches, a petite sushi lunchset, wagyu burgers and a very very filling sukiyaki don good for two.

Small yet cosy private dining experience at Wagyu & Sushi Matoba for quality and affordable Japanese A4/A5 wagyu & sushi omakase meal! The Japanese wagyu comes from Miyazaki, Iwate, Kagoshima! Chef Bryan makes great sushi & you will feel very comfortable & relaxed to enjoy course after course. But do prepare an empty stomach for the delectable & filling Omakase meal. Don’t forget to try their sake which comes from Nara prefecture, which pairs perfectly with the Omakase meal.
