★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For 20 bucks in kopitiam. I’d expect decent quality of a lunch. The fact is if I actually find it doesn’t fit the name at all. Firstly not fragrant as the name”Xiang”. Also not “Ma” which is the essence of Sichuan cuisine. Also and not “Guo” which primarily means dry pot method of cooking. how can a Mala Xiang Guo taste like this??!!!! It is watery for God’s sake. That is not mala xiangguo!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Steep pricing. Lacks the “Mala” essence; only spicy, missing the taste of sizhuan hot pepper and fragrances of a hotpot. Still, many people are patronising them. Really don’t know why.

There are some inconsistency at time in terms of the spice level and the saltiness.
There’s a chinese Cashier a tall female, she’s very rude and short tempered.
Foods cooked often not as per instructions given. Eg: spice level, oiliness etc

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The basic mala you will expect from a kopitiam. Not good but not bad also, just don't get the chicken because its pretty dry. The spicyness also doesn't have the "ma" so it's really not worth the price
