Atlas Veterinary Clinic & Surgery - 163 Bukit Merah Central

Back in February, it was time for me (Uni) to go through a rite of passage — getting neutered. Having a barrage of recommendations from many other owners, it was hard for pawpa and meowmy to make a decision until they watched a docu-series on Channel News Asia. No prizes for guessing who was featured! They decided on Dr Chow for the most simple reason — a veterinarian who has been working and volunteering his time at the SPCA must be someone who really loves animals, yes? Also, with his experience, he’s not going to cut anything wrong, right? My jewels are/were important. That day, I woke up and found myself teleported to Atlas Vet. It takes a bit to locate their practice, but the good people guided pawpa and meowmy until they found it. The place was spick and span, and built with the animals in mind. I must say, it was really clean. How do I know? My trained nose, of course! Dr Chow was really gentle with me. He spoke to me really nicely (even nicer than my pawrents at times) and handled me with lots of care. Also, he gave the three of us a tour around the premises. Don’t be fooled by the small waiting area — behind secured doors are the operating theatre, rest areas for us furry ones and even cordoned off areas for quarantine (if the need arises). My pawrents were really impressed with Dr Chow’s generosity in sharing knowledge with them. You can really feel the love at this place, and perhaps that is why I don’t freak out when it’s time for a visit to the vet. Today, Atlas Vet is definitely the place my pawrents will send me to if anything pops up. Besides Dr Chow, the lovely team won my pawrents over! For matters that weren’t serious, they patiently replied their queries over WhatsApp, saving them lots of anxiety and confusion over my little quirks and random injuries. Visit them and see for yourself. Your furry friend(s) will thank you!

My senior dog Yuki first met Dr Chow at the previous vet clinic he was practicing at. Yuki has been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis and has been to many other vets but we decided to bring her back to Dr Chow, ever since he established his own clinic. As Yuki’s condition meant that she suffers from recurring stomach upset and diarrhoea with blood, I have been fretting over her well-being and have thus consulted many different vets in search for answers. Dr Chow has been the most knowledgeable, responsive, empathetic vet who truly cares for each patient. Dr Chow has always been patient and helpful in explaining various reports and Yuki’s condition in layman terms - even going the extra mile to print out reference notes for me to bring back. I am thankful that Dr Chow and his team are different from other vets that I have consulted, who have rushed and brushed us away with tons of medication for Yuki, with the experiences ending in a bill shock. Looking at his lengthy volunteering experience at SPCA, it speaks volume of Dr Chow as a vet — his passion towards his profession, dedication and care towards animals. The Atlas team is also active in animal rescue, as seen on their social media. They are truly an impressive team and I believe Yuki and all other patients are in their good hands. I love the fact that Atlas vet is a certified stress-free clinic for animals and pawrents as well. As Atlas is an appointment-based clinic, there is little to no crowd each time we visit and Yuki is free to roam about. It makes a huge difference when comparing to other vets as the short waiting time made it less stressful for both Yuki and myself. I appreciate that they are contactable via WhatsApp to make appointments or follow-up with any queries. On behalf of all stray and domestic pets, a big thank you to Dr Chow and the entire Atlas team for taking pride in what you do!

Three dogs with a wide variety of disabilities and ailments, we are no stranger to a vet clinic! But finding the right one can be a challenge. I was so impressed by all aspects of Atlas. First, the communication was excellent, very responsive and helpful. Second, they give great directions to the clinic - this was just so helpful and appreciated! Then we come to the care, Dr Chow was so kind and caring to our very anxious patient. He really took his time, he gave me excellent advice and was so gentle with Truffles. The clinic itself is clean, simple and really well laid out. From the outside it actually looks like a villa, everything is just so well done. Not that I ever look forward to requiring a vet visit, but in this case we look forward to seeing Dr Chow and the team again…no doubt soon ?

Bought my rescued dog to Atlas Vet. Excellent service by Dr Chow and his team. His staffs were very friendly and provide excellent service. Before the appointment, they wanted a picture of the lump and medical records of my dog to make the appointment more smooth Consultation with Dr Chow was great, unlike some vets who would do unnecessary tests and procedures. He took his time with my dog and explained whatever questions I asked him. It was a great relief to know the lump is not serious. Very reasonable priced and I would definitely come here again due to the great service

Thank Dr. Chow and team they’re very kind and friendly service, Dr. Chow explained clearly about result. Clinic is very clean and cosy. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent animal care and reasonable price too. Choose the right Vet you will never feel regret.

My foster cat had a peaceful appointment at Atlas Vet. I was afraid that he would be aggressive but Dr Veevien was very professional and handled him well. He was like a big baby in her arms. Thanks for squeezing Sunwoo into your busy schedule!!! I will be bringing my own cat to Atlas Vet for her vaccinations from now on. ?

It was our first visit to Atlas Vet. Definitely a great experience and first impression. Dr Chow and his team are approachable and extended their help in ways to make our cat's visit comfortable. Dr Chow is very patient, assuring and clear in his explanations. A resourceful and passionate veterinarian. Clinic is clean and peaceful. As there were no other pets around my cat was calm during the visit. Though clinic is far from where we stay, definitely won't mind bringing my cats to Atlas as we know they will be in good hands. Highly recommended.

Fungus first met Dr Chow at the SPCA where he was adopted, he had ringworm and ear mites. Dr Chow patiently guided us (first-time pet owners!) throughout the 2 weeks and answered our (way too many) questions. He was always warm and welcoming despite our panic! From there we knew that Dr Chow was Fungus’s forever vet. Fungus has since been under Dr Chow’s care, and I can honestly say that Dr Chow is an amazing vet. As his client: 1. I am never pressured into doing treatments—I’m always given best options + alternatives, and everything is clearly and perfectly detailed to me. 2. I am never embarrassed for asking 1000 questions—Dr Chow is always happy to educate and has given me an abundance of tips/improvements I can make to help Fungus have a better quality of life. 3. I am never shamed for not knowing/not being able to do things—A great example would be when Fungus had diarrhoea, as a vegetarian I had no idea how to cook him chicken. Dr Chow gave plenty of alternatives that suited my capabilities while still having Fungus’s best interest at heart! Our most recent visit to Atlas Clinic was also lovely!! All the nurses were all extremely sweet to Fungus (and human!), and even allowed him to roam the area to feel more comfortable before his check-up. Medication administered is always properly explained to me, and I am never anxious when I need further clarification. I can go on and on; but overall, if you’re looking for your forever vet, Dr Chow is THE one. The best thing about Atlas is that all the staff takes the effort to bond with your pet to make them comfortable! Everyone feels like Fungus’s friend. :o)
