Hai Tian Mala Hot Pot - 204 Bedok North Street 1

It is no longer called Hai Tian Mala Hotpot, new stall owner has taken over and now it was named Thye Guan Fragrant Pot. Been here a few times, and food taste wise is acceptable, prices are reasonable. May have to take longer waiting time during peak hours.

Affordable and tasty mala hotpot. They tend to be not that spicy, so normally I would order medium spicy.

Very bad service. Female staff will ruin your appetite before you even develop one. Will never patron here again.

Good but expensive, i usually buy the same items at a lower price, different people charge differently. i had to pay $8 extra than what i used to pay, ridiculous. ?3? ???!

One of the top few mala xiang guo in the area. Always come in decent portions, sufficient to satisfy mala craving. The queue may be a tad bit long, but usually cooks fast after ordering.

Terrible. Told the female staff that I am eating in, so she did not charge me for takeaway (50cents). She gave me a buzzer. Waited for 20mins, and when I asked her where was my food, she passed me my food in a takeaway container and told me that it has been ready for a long time. So I told her "sorry your buzzer did not make a sound." Then she asked me if I was sitting at the tables outside the coffeeshop. I said yes. Then she said "our radar of the buzzer doesn't go so far. If you sit that far, the buzzer of course wouldn't sound right? " Here's what I don't agree with: 1. I replied "you should have told me about the radar right? That its undetectable at the tables outsidethe coffeeshop?" Then she said "i tell it to everyone!" Clearly did not tell me. 2. 3 people right in front of me, also outside the coffeeshop, waiting for their takeaway, received their food because their buzzer sounded. So it can't be that I am too far right? 3. I told her I am eating in. I mean she did not charge me 50cents for takeaway, so she should know I am eating in. Instead, she said "eh you know this container is 50cents? I never even charge you, you know I give you one eh! I never charge you! You want I can give you also! I didnt ask u for 50cents!" Erm okay so what? I also don't need it right. I just want my food. Then she proceeded to "ok u know what nevermind i just help you pour into bowl ok bye" If you make a mistake then please admit it. Not only did you get my order in the wrong package you also tried to fight your way thru by saying you didnt charge me 50 cents for takeaway box when I don't even want takeaway. It's easy to just say sorry and let it be. I also saw another customer whom the same lady also opened a takeaway box and put it on a plate for him to dine in. Food was good. But getting it is upsetting.

Not gonna lie, the taste is good. But cost is absurd. It was already expensive in the first place. But they've just had another price increase of 50 cents per item. Taking into account, I'm always charged an extra dollar for reasons they didn't explain(depends on who is taking orders). At this point, the management is clearly charging too much.
