不正宗 Hainanese Chicken Rice - 120 Bukit Merah Lane 1

Bad attitude. Just wanted to borrow some forks from the stall, got told off..... In the end, I was asked to put the forks back and I ended up placing them back in the pail where they place their dirty utensils. Can be more gracious.....

Came quite late, almost 8pm. The Chicken was expectedly delicious, succulent and skin was as smooth as baby skins. Chilli was nice blend with a balance of chilli, ginger and shallots. We will come again for sure. There is a nice herbal soup provided too. Service was good too. Didnt expect I am the first to give a review. Owner Ah Siong was kind and dedicated to providing good food.

The chicken rice was unexpectedly memorable. The dish was tasty and the green vegetable/ soup complimented the meal very well. A great option if you are in the area and not planning to join any of the long queues.

Best chicken rice in Singapore!! Even better than boon Tong kee. the lime makes their chicken rice damn good! And the chicken doesn't have foul smell unlike some other shops.

Bang on average. Though I dare say it may be just below average. The rice was mildly flavoured and nowhere what i call “good”. The chicken was served flattened and not particularly tender. Not tough either though. The chilli had a relatively good flavour and consistency. Tasted more “raw” than most others and was heavy with the garlic. Could do with a little more punch. Overall, an average experience. Flavour blended just alright. For $3 a plate, I won’t kick up a fuss if it’s a regular lunch. But as an eastie, I see no reason to visit Alexandra just for this. That said, it’s not far from the standards of the famous chicken rice is in the same hawker centre.
