IKEA Jurong - #02-12/13/14 #03-15/16/17

I visited IKEA at Jem on 1st July. I left my hand bag on one of the chair on display, security personnel kept it safely at the Lost & Found section safely,thank you ❤ ? for that as this is the first time,it happened to me. Although IKEA Jem is the smallest store out of the three, it promises to pack a punch with new experiences and new items. There are three levels at IKEA Jurong Level 2 is “Living Room”, Level 3 is “Bedrom”, “Level 4 is “Kitchen” with the popular IKEA food hall and restaurant. You must pick up accessories and furniture instantly, as there is no “Market Hall”. One additional feature of IKEA JEM is the digital aspect. There are more digital solutions to enhance the shoppers’ experience and make the shopping experience more efficient. There are digital panels for details on products, store map and other information you need about IKEA. I had a positive experience at IKEA Jem.

Visiting Ikea has been daunting to me who's handicapped. I have to walk through a lot of aisles before I found my thing. Then it's another long walk to checkout. So it's a nice surprise that you can visit the 3 storey outlet and zoom in the floor where the item is, buy it and checkout on same floor. It's a nice neighbourhood shop concept. Of course now most neighbourhood shops don't sell a lot of common stuff. And a store in the West at last!

IKEA engages the worst fixture/furniture installation company called GOGOX. The installation team was incompetent. They drilled the fixtures onto the walls and it was slanted/lopsided. There were even instances where they drilled it into the wrong spot (which means drilled holes are left in the wall!) even when given proper instructions and measurements. When asked to rectify the errors made, one of them said, "a bit only slanted", as if that's acceptable and supposed to placate us home owners! That is rubbish unprofessional behavior and downright unacceptable. They then rushed the job towards the end and made a mess, claiming, "we have somewhere else to go", as if their schedule is an excuse for a poorly done job. Another thing is, they don't carry a ladder with them. WHAT KIND OF INSTALLATION TEAM/COMPANY DOESN'T HAVE A LADDER?? ISN'T IT BASIC COMMON SENSE TO HAVE ONE IN-CASE THEY HAVE TO MOUNT FIXTURES HIGH UP THE WALLS?? That is just ridiculous. Slipshod work, lazy attitude, unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend their installation team at all. Shame on you for engaging them and shame on them. Thumbs down!

Rating solely for this underwhelming nacho hotdog... Always enjoyed the $1 hotdog whenever I visited ikea. This time disappointed by the misleading photo vs actual product. Basically paid 50cents for a tiny amount of nacho cheese in a saucer. Barely had any fried onions as well... sad.... Also no mustard nor Mayo available here

This 3rd ikea outlet is the only one that is near the mrt station. Located at JEM, it offers most of the items just like the other outlets. However, it is best to check online to see if the item you want have available stock or not.

restaurant queue system is very efficient, was around a 30 min wait on a weekend which is not bad at all! Favourites from IKEA are the chicken wing, smoked salmon, root beer, berries cheesecake, and the mushroom soup was good too

Always a fan of IKEA and being overseas most of the time, I am glad to be back in Singapore and check out this new location in Jurong. Not as big as the ones at Tampines and Alexandra, this new dig is spread out vertically within JEM in 3 levels. The iconic staging of different spaces one would find in the flats of Singapore remains the highlight of every trip to IKEA, well not counting a pitstop at the restaurant. Unlike the other stores, one can pick up items and pay for them at each level instead of one main warehouse-like section with multiple checkout lines.

Restaurant queue was fast and smooth but there seems to be a lack of trolleys to carry the food. Very small eating area too which makes it hard to find an available seat. However, food is good and cheap especially with the free IKEA Family Membership program. The food variety can be increased as outside of the staple meatballs and wings, there seems to be a lack of main dishes (Only salmon fillet and spaghetti)
