Indonesian Cuisine & BBQ

I don't visit the Kallang Wave Mall often but when I do, this food court is my go-to for a quick meal and/drink. I have always like the way this place is laid out and decorated. With the view of the Riverwalk, I find this spacious food court good for tired shoppers (during off-peak hours). There is a good variety of food to choose from and the Seafood Tom Yum Mini Pot caught my attention during a recent visit. The soup with prawn, fish cake, mussel, fish ball and beancurd is placed in what looks like a small steamboat device. You pick a side of noodle or rice to enjoy with the flavorful broth, which is kept warm with a small burning fuel under the pot.

My Kampung is the food court in Singapore sports Hub, Kallang Wave mall located at level 2. It's Jalal food Court. The price are reasonable. Mixed rice & Yong Taufu are the best in this place.

The whole coffee shop is run by FTs. The food taste horrible. The staff are rude and staff are only working for higher sales revenue. The Ban Mian & Congee stall is run by very rude staff and food taste exceptionally salty. The drinks stall staff tells me the bubble tea cannot reduce sugar but when I try to switch to a lower price item so that the sugar can be reduced, suddenly she say the initial choice can reduce sugar. Cutleries are always dirty.

This is at MY KAMPONG FOOD COURT. I had food from this stall which is not too bad. Beware the cutleries are always dirty. Plates and bowl are stained, fork and spoon oftentimes have bits of food stuck on it. Coffee and tea are not up to standard.

Update: This stall has closed since circuit breaker. Tried the randang chicken blue flower nasi lemak here at My Kampung Kallang Wave Mall today. Not only the presentation is good, the taste is good too. The rice is fragrant with the right amount of softness and moisture. Chicken thigh is well marinated and tender. Cucumber is fresh and sweet. Ikan bilis is crispy. The chili is hot and sweet like the good old day's nasi lemak chili. I know what I will eat when I come here again. :)

Had Ayam Penyet for dinner as recommended by the counter staff. Chili was potent :-D and the chicken was juicy and crispy. I love the soft moist rice and sides were nice too.

The reviews here are hilarious as many have reviewed the food court instead of the stall itself ? That got us confused when we saw reviews of economic rice and hot desserts ?‍♀️ so we created one for My Kampung by You Kee Group located at Kallang Wave Mall. Post your other reviews there ✌️ *This review is specifically for the Ayam Soto and Longtong at Indonesian Cuisine & BBQ* The photo of the Soto Ayam doesn't do it much justice because it is oh-so-GOOD! Lip smacking tasty chicken broth with tender juicy chicken pieces over compressed rice cakes (longtong) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Even a "non-soupy' person dried up her bowl. That speaks tons! Just look at the photo ? The Longtong deserves an honorary mention too. While we would prefer the coconut vegetable curry base was a little more lemak (way more coconut milk), and we appreciated that the vegetables were fresh ☺️ this one received ⭐⭐⭐⭐ We haven't tried everything since it's our first visit so we didn't think it'd justify an overall 5 stars at this stage. If there was a 4.5 we'll be happy to give it a proper. And we think that pretty much fair. We'll likely be back to taste the other dishes.

Indonesian BBQ at Kallang Wave Mall. In between a soccer game during the Suzuki Cup tournament,  we had little choice but to eat at this Kampung place. My son and I had each a Ayam Penyet n a Nasi Lemak.  This is probably the lowest of all Nasi Lemak n Adam Penyet  I've ever tasted.  Plain,  dry and cold rice. Not to mention pretty low quality rice too. And it wasn't cheap too $ 7.90 for the AP. Will never patronise this stall again,  wasted money.
