IPPUDO WESTGATE

Being a huge fan of Ippudo after having enjoyed their fabulous ramen at their Honten over in Hakata, there was high hopes that their overseas outlet in Singapore can do their Honten some justice. Was in the Jurong East MRT Station area and decided to head to Ippudo at Westgate for dinner. Got a Chope App voucher for a 1-for-1 offer of Ippudo's limited time Yuzu Ramen. Thankfully this voucher does not need a reservation to be able to use. Tried asking if the 2nd bowl can be consumed at another visit, sadly was informed that is not allowed for the 1-for-1. LOL. Ordered the Yuzu Tonkotsu Ramen, which had zesty Yuzu added to their traditional Tonkotsu Ramen. Found it too zesty, overpowering at times too. The bowl of Ramen is not bad, just too much Yuzu. Good for a try but definitely not worth a return for it. General Verdict: A restaurant with wonderful ramen let down by a new experimentation. Experimentation of new flavours is a good sign of the restaurant's ability to grow and innovate. Perhaps more tasting should be done before placing new flavours on the menu for the general public. Otherwise, the proud reputation of Ippudo and their wonderful Tonkotsu ramen may be damaged by it. Average ramen but the mentaiko gyoza was dope. Price is way too expensive, not to forget you will also get charged for service and GST if you choose to dine in

The Bonito Ramen is bursting with bonito flakes and flavour. A must try. However if you don’t like the taste of orange rind, put that orangy thingy at the side of the bowl aside. The basic broth is not basic at all. The creamy collagen colour tells it all and strong bbq flounder taste linger behind your palates. It’s fun to order “Naruto”. ? Do try the gyoza, soft and crispy skin wrap around the chives with pork. Generally the portions are at small side, if you hungry prepare to order some more sides!

We will come here every week for tamago shiromaru, gyoza, potato salad and special shiromaru. Soup was delicious and flavoured. My kid likes the kid meal and now they gave out a token to turn for a toy at the entrance toy machine.

This is my family's favorite ramen place in Singapore. Whenever we are at westgate, we want to try something else but always end up in Ippudo. We love their karaka ramen and black spicy ramen. Their cucumber slices are refreshing. They recently added crispy corn cob to their menu and it is delicious! Service is fast and staff are polite. 5 stars worth!

Always love Ippudo ramen and it never disappoint. I think the most important thing about ramen is noodle texture and the taste of the soup. You should try their matcha tiramisu too and I love it more than normal tiramisu.

The ramen was gd and taste great, similar to the Keisuke ramen @ Tanjong Pagar. Gyoza is equally delicious and the skin is thin with a light crisp. The braised meat with the flat bun is savoury and the meat melts in the mouth.

Broth is very nice, not too salty. Noodles can be ordered to your liking of harness. Service was fast and efficient. Offered a box for bags. Only problem was lunch set is really not enough food.
