The service is mediocre. But the most disappointing thing was that baked potatoes were out of stock. The presentation of food was very messy too. Steak board had old food stains and remnants. Certainly does not match the price point. Will not return again.

Jacks place - The place for steaks? I would question if it is even the place for food… I used to like Jacks place. It’s an old decent name. Been going there since childhood and they have always been a friendly outlet for reasonable price western food. Not the best quality but still reasonable quality of this price range. Also been to this Jewel outlet before but todays experience is short of nothing but a disaster. The restaurant was not even crowded and we have to wait for more than half an hour for our food. Complained and it came within 3mins (clearly someone left out our order). Manager (Rex) couldn’t explain what happened and clearly has no control over the kitchen and what’s going on in general. Also, as a western food restaurant, we were informed that they neither have ribeye nor lamb - by 6:30pm on a weekend. Another clear sign of not running an outlet well. It’s really sad to see a good old brand going down the drain due to bad management. For sure not coming back to this outlet again, and will think real hard on any Jack place for that matter.

Used to be a fan of Jack's Place, but first time coming to the Jewel outlet. Came on a Saturday for lunch — most of the staff were fairly friendly, however, we noted that the restaurant was generally lacking in cleanliness; table and even some seats had food crumbs, surroundings were dusty, and even the utensils/condiments (salt and pepper shakers) seemed rather dirty. Nonetheless, we wanted to try the food for nostalgia's sake — ordered the Chicken & Mushroom Alfredo, and a N.Z. Ribeye Steak medium-rare. We opted for the lunch sets; the soups were excellent, the garlic bread nowhere near as good as that of other Jack's Place branches, but still passable. However, the main courses are where things started going downhill: 1) The presentation of the steak was abysmal to say the least: when the steak was served, the 'hot' plate was not even hot anymore — it looked like it had been already prepared earlier but simply not served. The baked potato was one step away from crumbling to pieces, the sauce hastily poured on top. Frankly, most of these wouldn't have been that much of an issue if not for the fact that this standard was so inconsistent even within the restaurant — we noticed that another table was served two steaks similar to mine (shoddy presentation, broken potato and all), but another couple seated close to us had their steaks about 15 minutes later, with perfectly round baked potatoes served on a hot and sizzling pan. I must say, considering the menu suggested medium-rare as the best choice for a juicy steak, I was thoroughly disappointed because I didn't get a juicy steak, only an unevenly cooked one that even had burnt fat. 2) I must concede that neither of us are trained chefs, but we do not understand how the Alfredo was served almost 30 minutes after the steak. Other tables had their Slipper Lobster Aglio Olio served a good amount of time before the Alfredo came, and we had to check with the manager before it was served. Unfortunately, considering how long it took to be served, it tasted painfully mediocre, and we were surprised by the large presence of bell peppers that sadly overpowered the creamy flavour or the taste of the chicken/mushrooms. Service was definitely not as bad as many of the other reviews claim to be, but I have to agree that the kitchen staff may need to take tips from other Jack's Place branches, like at AMK or JEM. However, I do hope that they can pay more attention to the general cleanliness of the restaurant, as things look really messy and dirty in general. We also noticed that a lone empty fruit juice glass was left at an empty table for the entire duration that we were there (which was sadly really long due to the extremely slow cooking times in spite of the restaurant not even being half-full), but staff had ample time to stand around doing nothing. Hopefully they can improve, because otherwise this branch at Jewel only tarnishes the Jack's Place brand.

Wanted to give one star. But the outlet manager apologised to us so I gave two more stars for the manager service. 1) We wasn’t informed that all our meal are out of bake potatoes. We were served mash potatoes, if we to know that they are out of bake potatoes I will not stay for the food as my mother in law and kids came here for it. The manager came over and explain that his staff missed out on tables to informed n etc. 2) We ordered a medium well fire steak. It came over cooked. I only realise it was too dried after getting a bite and theres not “fire” which they will lit up before serving to you. Again the manager came and apologise to me. And brought it back to the kitchen and served me a new dish. The manager did try to rectify the problems. But it was really a awful experience at this outlet. We never experience this type of issues before at our usual outlets. And the queue was seriously long even theres quite a number of unused empty tables. And we waited almost an hour for our food to be serve.

Pleasant experience dining at Jewel's Jack Place. One of the longest standing western food joint in Singapore, nothing much could go wrong having a meal here. Enjoyed the mixed grill thoroughly, the combination of meat along with the side dishes was very filling satisfying. It being on the higher floors meant that it is away from the bulk of the crowd at Jewel. Will definitely be a dining choice the next time we wanna avoid the crowd! :)

I would say I like to eat here. They give a decent portion of meat worth generous toppings. Particularly I like the lamb chops. The service is fast and everything is satisfied. Oh, I also love their beef stew! It’s so good! Worth trying.

Rex was the manager-on-duty attending to us when we arrived. The restaurant was half empty before noon but the scenic corner overlooking at the vortex were already taken up. The set meals were rather pricey at first look but the portion turned out to be generously big. We were thrilled. The set meals came with nice ice creams but coffee and tea were not included. We would rather have the latter to wrap up the meals.

Manage to get a table at 5pm during walk-in on a Saturday. Staff was great. Seated us at the fountain view. Ordering experience was great. Waiting time was reasonable. Food wise, seems to be average. Not a "must come back again" food place for me and family.
