Interesting social cafe concept. Good ambience. Really loved the pistachio donut and beef shepherd pie which were both recommended by the staff. Coffee is good but iced matcha green tea can be improved. First time trying strawberry mint kombucha which isn't too bad.. overall a good experience and hope to come back when there's a workshop. hope they'll sell ice cream pints in the shop as well!

Staff are quite rude and unfriendly. Food is okay, recommend the salmon quiche. lots of people chatting and having business conversations. Nice aesthetic setting. Not sure if I will come back again due to the 3/10 service.

I've been here 2 times. First time I was with my friends, we saw some pretty photos online with some cozy corners to chill but were disappointed to arrive and find the place looks totally different - they probably made some changes to the design. Second time (today) I was with my husband for a quick cup of coffee as my husband was quite excited to see a spacious and interesting looking cafe. I wasn't doing much, just standing and looking around at their shelves and saw some pretty handcrafted items. My husband spent some time talking with the staff about their drinks and we ordered a brulee latte in the end. We sat down at a table and started noticing a female staff (or manager, or owner) - an older auntie walked all the way from behind the counter to the empty tables next to us and efficiently chased away 2 groups of customers (she made 2 trips in less than 10 minutes), after telling them to go order drinks before they can sit down. I believe she said something like "There's no such thing as chope the table here" and the customers were obviously offended and quickly left after that (these were groups of 3-5 people with shopping bags, so naturally they wanted to sit down while 1 person could go and order drinks for the group). Perhaps the cafe has their rule that all customers must queue and order drinks before they can pick a table, to make it fair to other customers who are queueing to get their drinks. However, such a rule should be communicated clearly and nicely to customers without the need to be rude. The auntie's black face and hustle to eagerly chase customers away caused an uncomfortable ambiance and we quickly left as well, to avoid being chased out ourselves (for ordering only 1 drink while occupying 2 seats - we weren't sure we wanted to sit down at first). Oh, and the coffee is not good either. Same for other drinks like chocolate as I can remember. To sum it up, it's a nicely designed cafe, with several interesting handmade items for sale, a varied menu of average tasting coffee and desserts. The ambiance is somewhat hustling bustling, not suitable to sit for more than 30 minutes. In the end, I just don't see the meaning of the word "Social Cafe" in it, especially given a particular staff's attitude toward customers.

Komma Social Cafe is more than just another place for friends to meet for tea, coffee or desserts. Pre-covid, they will also conduct creative workshops, crafting activities and events to allow everyone to come together for a fun time. The entire interior is pretty minimalistic, calm, and artistic. Corners of the space are filled with shelves of artisanal crafted goods for sale (some only on display). Their regular Iced Latte ($5.50) is very decent. Light, smooth and slightly milky. Just the right blend for me. They have also launched a new collaborated with Huggs Coffee, offering coffees made from speciality coffee blends. The Mango Iced Tea ($6.50) is also very refreshing, especially after a long day of shopping! Kombucha and fresh pressed juices come in bottles. Overall a very cosy cafe with an interesting concept. My go to place to grab a drink/bite whenever I am around this area to catch up with some friends or hold small meetings. Great for co-working, small discussions and also personal reading. All staffs are efficient and friendly. Prices are fairly average.

Coffee was over priced. For 4.50 I could have gotten excellent coffee at other cafes. Here, I got regular black coffee. The cheese bread was a tad nicer, with a good chew, but the cheese was concentrated in one location instead of spreading out over the entire bun, making it feel like eating a chunk of cheese some times, and just plain bread at other times.

Photos of the cafe were taken in March 2020 before CB. Inviting layout with minimal, warm interior. Dropped by again after 2 years, didn’t feel that “social” anymore, probably because many things on the menu had sold out (really? it’s only lunchtime), and the staff were just disinterested in general. Coffee was ok, just couldn’t figure out what was that picture - a swan or a mushroom?
