正宗川味麻辣香锅 Ma La Xiang Guo - 208B New Upper Changi Rd

Had been a fan from before of this stall's MLXG, however standards and moreover, the dishonesty of the staff is what triggered me and my family the most. It hasn't been the first time and I thought at first, maybe it was because of their overwhelming orders so things might have gotten mixed up? BUT second time is enough. Certain ingredients ( more than 1 type ) seems to be charged to customers ( especially take-away orders as customers will only open at home. By then, too late. ) and then put aside and not ending up in the customer's take away box. Basically, being charged for and the food goes missing... Please guys, first thing to having a business is always honesty to your own customers. Even if business seems to be booming right now...

Come here if you want your meat shriveled & shrinked. First time ever out of the many mala stalls I've eaten at. You have to literally dig and find your meat. Not sure if it's the quality issue or as per mentioned from previous reviews of dishonesty. Price also seem unexplainable despite not charged by weight however was not too high to demand a item-by-item breakdown. 1st and last time to this stall despite being 'well-known'??

Do not patronise this scammer stall! Unless you don’t mind being cheated for whatever you think you saw the auntie took cuz when you reach home, the portion is going to be half of that. They go by portion and the auntie took 4 crabsticks so I told her can I have just 2 (she started grumbling they don’t have half portion but will do it for me this time), so I saw with my eyes she took out 2 and left 2 in the bowl yet I came home to find only 1. And for the fish probably took around 6-7 pieces, but ultimately I only got 2. Seriously???!!!! SCAMMERS!!! It’s not even about the exorbitant price anymore, but what you paid is not what you get, I feel totally cheated. No more next time…. ??????

Went to this place for dinner at about 5pm. Queue was rather lengthy, 20 mins to pick ingredients and another 20 mins to wait for the cooked food. Food was just averaged. It was spicy but it lack the numbing Sichuan spice. Not really sure what the hyped was all about.

The standard has drastically dropped after the friendly aunty left. The stall now is handled by a group of “uncles” who will charge u for extra one or two plastic bowls u took. The attitude was bad when I ask for additional bowl. Please go for other better choice when You can more than u paid. Anyway, I miss u aunty !

The ma la pot is tasty but their prices are kind of expensive. It would be great if they can lower their prices or provide a larger serving. The ma la stalls near my parents home in Jurong are much cheaper. For info, I paid $11 for the items in the picture below Date of review: 21 July 2021

been patronising this stall for quite a few years. standard has dropped especially after the aunty left. went to visit today (2 Oct 21) and when the bowl came out, it wasn’t even what I had ordered but the guy insisted it was since it had the same number as my tag. feels bad because someone paid way more than I did yet did not get what they ordered

Taste wise, it's ok, nothing to shout about. Ordered medium spice but I find the Ma is not there and the lar is not even medium considered medium level. It did smell nice when I just collected. But gradually becomes quite tasteless as I continue eating. My portion came up to $10, price wise not very cheap also. Wanna eat is can eat lar but really can miss if you out to just have mala.
