Palola

I own three pairs of Palola shoes: the Jessica ballet flats, the Claudia loafers, and a pair of made to order Cate low heel pumps. TL;DR: Well-made shoes that look good and support the feet well, but finding the right fit for feet that don't fit mass market standards will still be a process. The shape of my feet are a little hard to shop for, as my heels are thin while the front of my feet are a little broader. Thus, it was difficult for me to find a pair of shoes that fit me comfortably. I enjoy how solid the Palola shoes feel and how they pair with my wardrobe; they do provide the confidence that comes from quality. However, I didn't get the fit quite right with the Jessica flats. The Claudia loafers were much more comfortable but still gave me some difficulty, and I'm currently in the process of breaking in my Cate pumps, although it seems they are indeed going to be a comfortable fit. Even though the first two were not the ideal fit and for this price point I did expect more comfort, I'm giving Palola 5 stars because they really are some very well-made shoes that look good and feel good, and each member of the team is knowledgeable, helpful and personable. They wear their own shoes and are very familiar with the characteristics of the materials. Shu Ting especially has given me good advice on shoe and material selection, and went out of her way to help me come up with solutions for my feet type. Additionally, when I mentioned that the Jessica flats and Claudia loafers were not as comfortable as I'd hoped, Shu Ting immediately analysed the problem and asked me to bring the two pairs back so she could see if the issues could be fixed, having identified some solutions that she wanted to try. Unfortunately, I haven't yet had the time to do this, but I am assured that Shu Ting and team can and will help me find the right fit shoes to the absolute best of their abilities.

An experience that felt like such a treat! Special thanks to Shu Ting who was ever so patient, knowledgeable, warm and personable! Was having such a hard time deciding on which colour to get but Shu Ting patiently guided me through the selection process to find a pair that suited my lifestyle needs and personality. Must have tried on at least 10 different pairs of shoes and made quite a mess in the store but Shu Ting and Joyce really spared no effort to help me find the shoe that fit me the best! Walked out feeling especially satisfied with the shoe chosen with full assurance of its quality and fit which says a lot because I stayed away from buying flats for long long time. Taking into consideration my skin tone, foot width, and even blistering concerns, Shu Ting suggested I size up half a size for a better fit. Very thankful for the experience I had in choosing my shoes and am very excited to start wearing them. More than just a pair of shoes, I’ll always remember them for the amount of heart, thoughtfulness and amazing brand-client rapport that went into each pair. Thank you so much!

I have been struggling with footwear all my life, especially with ladies office shoes. I consider my feet to be broad, and it's tough to find shoes that are comfortable to wear for hours on end. I've also tried more ergonomic shoes like Dr Kong, but my feet still hurt a lot. Palola seems to be the only shoe brand in Singapore that does more customised shoes (only made-to-order for now). I wasn't very confident when I went there, expecting to be disappointed once again. Indeed, it wasn't smooth sailing. The off shelf shoes didn't fit me well, some were too tight and some too loose. Thanks to Shu Ting who meticulously helped to make small adjustments along the way to arrive at the best solution. She introduced premium leather to me, and for both feet I went with different sizes (left: 37.5 and right: 38), she also decided on the amount of cushion to add so that the fit would be better. She also took note to reduce the height of the flats near my ankles so that they will not rub and cause abrasion. The whole process took around 2 hours. I was quite tired by the end. When I collected my shoes 1 month later, I was super scared. Luckily once I slipped my feet in, they felt rather comfortable and I was really pleasantly surprised. I started to break into the shoes by wearing them a few hours a day, and by the 4th day they were super comfortable and I can wear them around for hours. What also impressed me was that my new shoes never caused me any blisters from Day 1. People always say that new shoes will cause blisters during the 'breaking in' process. But not this pair! They were really comfortable and well lined with soft leather. It was definitely $500 well spent! For someone who has spent her whole life in discomfort, I'm really very grateful. My wishlist for Palola is for the shop to be able to use feet scanners to model the feet, and custom make shoes from scratch. That would be a very good and fast experience, rather than having to manually test different variations to see what works during the fitting — as it's time consuming and tiring. Repeat customer. Bought multiple pairs for self and friends. Palola shoes pack a lot of value for the material, workmanship and the comfort. I have a collection of Italian shoes (brand starts with the letter “F”) but I have not bought any in two years because Palola packs so much value.

Finally came to THE STORE! Been wanting to get a good pair of shoes for myself. And I am so happy to get 2 pairs of shoes here! Thanks to Shu Ting for her fantastic and professional recommendations! Yes, the price is a little more expensive but it is totally worth the money. If you understand the effort and thinking behind each pair of shoes, you will understand the value. Also, a good pair of shoes will accompany you in some great adventures. Totally worth it. Goodbye to horrible shoes. I hope my feet will thank me for this decision!

I am glad to have finally laid my hands on a pair of Palola shoes after contemplating for a few years! Am extremely impressed with their excellent in-store customer service.
