A well executed Omakase meal that falls short of the expectation of a Michellin 2-star chef. I had the Kou menu for lunch another day and everything seemed to be well prepared and exactly what I'd expect from an Omakase place. The dishes for the most part tastes traditional. I liked the abalone's yellow colored sauce, which is more interesting then the usual green gray colored sauce in other places. The chitoro and otoro served togehter is a nice touch too. I would have rated this place 5 stars if the restuarant didn't heavily advertise that the chef came from Shoukouwa. I dined at Shoukouwa before and what I really liked there is that the chef changed the traditional flavor and offered nice surprises every now and then, which differetiates itself from other sushi places. With this expectation going in, I was mildy disspointed that the Sushi Kou tastes rateher traditional, delicious but no element of surprise. The restaurant doesn't take credit card, which is not uncommon in Japan but would be seen as inconvenient and weird in Singapore.

clean flavor Edo style sushi. Smoked Katsuobushi and seaweed was so good we ordered extra plate. Love the very soft and flavorful abalone cooked in a beautiful iron pot.

One of the more expensive Japanese restaurants in Singapore with Omakase meals at SGD700, but you get what you pay for as it is also one of the best restaurants in Singapore.

Very upscale refined establishment, hard to reserve venue. But all is worth the wait and effort. Food is superb as better than most Japanese sushi restaurant in Japan itself. Service is excellent. They are posh on pricing, two can expect to spend at least a thousand dollars here after food & drinks especially if order sake or wine. After all the alcohol pairing will be worth the meal, leaving full satisfaction and closest you can get to Japan experience in Singapore when you can't travel due to CoVid19 restrictions.

A very unique kinda of Oma dinning experience here at sushi Kou. Food was excellent and service was impeccable. Seated at the counter watching the chefs at work was really enjoyment. Thank you

An out of this world experience in many senses with Chef Yoshi, from the sake to the entire omakase menu. Definitely a luxurious experience for the ultimate indulgence in an era whereby we can’t travel freely. A generous treat for yourself if you ever need an extreme perk me up in an uber exclusive dining experience within Singapore. #andrewtanatomisingapore

I waited for 6 months to dine here. It seems like they take about 12 diners for dinner only hence the super long wait. I have to say it was an eye opener sitting at counter watching the chefs up close preparing food. Every dish was so enjoyable, with special mention of the sushi. The seafood was just so fresh, the rice little enough for the meat to almost wrap around the rice. Everything was so good there was nothing to fault. The dessert was grapes, something so simple and plain as it may seem, but really brought the entire meal to the climax when you know you are eating the most expensive, finest and best grapes from Japan. The price tag was a tad too expensive, but the experience was totally worth it.

Good quality sushi restaurant. Omakase course is quite a large portion so you may start with a lightest course. Treasure box was the best take away package! They often recommend you expensive sake and truffle steamed rice so better to consider.
