Need a sushi fix? Run to run run sushi! I used to go for brand name sushi joints for my sashimi pick-me-up but honestly, nothing can beat run run's generous portions and freshness. I especially love their onigirazu (imagine a sushi sandwich) because it is always packed to the brim with tasty goodness. They have a pretty inventive take on Cheesy Chicken Katsu Tempura Sushi too, which is actually a hot and crispy fried sushi with melted cheese! The staff are friendly too and would recommend great picks for customised maki rolls.

I'm reviewing solely for the sashimi noodles that are being sold. Although there is a certain novelty of the long, long, slices of salmon, after the first few bites the novelty is lost and sashimi noodles become... Sashimi. And at SGD32.50 for 250g (the smallest size), it is almost double of what you need to pay to buy salmon sashimi blocks from Donki. The Ponzu sauce is a hit or miss (it's a bit too sour for me, but the wife loves it). And there is a huge wastage of the sauce as well; a full container is provided when you would probably only consume 1/5 of that when you dip the noodles in the sauce. (It's definitely not to be consumed as soup as it's too sour/salty!)

Tried the Sashimi Noodles Mukbang Set (Salmon sashimi noodles) (intermediate set for $52). The sashimi was advertised to be air-flown daily, but I could still feel quite a bit of fishy taste from the fish. Sauce was good on a first dip, but bland thereafter. The source doesn’t mix well with the fish and soon the taste was over-powered by the fishy taste. For the same price, I could probably get a pretty varied sashimi moriawase elsewhere. Its not all bad (still alright taste, and therefore the 2 stars), but for the hype, value for money and taste, will probably go for something else in the future.

I think it’s a shame that they are diluting their wonderful menu with the hyped sashimi noodles. However, I feel that their makis are true gems. Although the selection of fillings is limited, all of the choices are good. I especially love the lobster salad.

One of my favourite go to places when I want to get a quick bite. Sushi portions are sufficient for a meal, and very tasty! Easy to eat on the go or even sitting down. I like that I can choose my own ingredients too! Super yummy sushi + friendly staff, thumbs up!

Had the DIY maki which comes with a wide variety of filling options. Wish they had more options for the base besides white rice though. Ingredients are fresh, though taste-wise nothing too different from what you'd get at other sushi/salad bars. Still, glad to have a healthy option at Ion basement.

Everything can be customized and pricing is reasonable. Like the sushi handroll the most - Easy to eat on the go. Would be better if the vinegar taste in the rice is stronger. But overall not bad.

Bought the Expert level Sashimi Noodles at $69 (~550g) which came with two bowls of sauce (which is the same size as the sushi). It was nice and fresh but pricey. Plus the sauce was a waste, didn't even used half a bowl of sauce to finish the noodles. Not a huge fan of sauce as it was too sour to go with the noodles.
