Food is pretty good and prices are affordable. Menu has a good range. But staff service used to be way better. Probably the only Japanese establishment of this genre that doesn’t provide napkins. And the lunchbox… wasabi already mixed in soya sauce which is probably sacrilegious in Japan.

Good quality food. It's a mid-upper range price restaurant. But it's worth the money. If you're looking for a good quality Japanese food, this is the place!

Not the friendliest staff, they seem constantly annoyed Arrived and ordered around 1.30pm, only received our food at 2.20pm (that's 50mins of waiting time), finished half our drinks by the time food arrived We were excited to try their new burgers: 1. Sukiyaki - overall tastes good. Each component was well done but nothing outstanding apart from a typical tasty burger. 2. Ebi - ebi katsu was impressive as there are actual large ebi chunks in there, but burger was dry which was a shame 3. Tamago - tastes like tamago sushi in a burger but I like that it is fried so it has that cripsy layer (is under dessert but has mayo and nori in it, which seems bizzare to me) All the buns were really dense and flat, it's supposedly similar to shake shack buns but not light or fluffy, you barely taste the bun since its almost flat hence the ratio of bun to filling is way off. Considering everything - waiting time, service, food - I doubt I'll return again...

Standards have dropped - like fallen off a cliff drop from when I last patronized Akashi years ago. Poor value, middling quality, indifferent service are the highlights. You know the restaurant doesn't care when your food is served on smudged plates.. Lol where is Mr Ramsey when you need him?

[Review for their burger menu, Golden Brown Hambaga] I was super excited for the ebi katsu burger bc I saw pics of huge chunks of prawn within the patty, but I must say that I was a bit disappointed. Instead of being bouncy like a nice prawn cake, it was a bit on the mushy side. The buns were nice and soft, and the batter was relatively crispy though! The tamago yaki fared a little better in terms of taste - the seasoning was nice, and tamago katsu concept was interesting and provided a bit of texture. Overall I would definitely recommend sharing the burgers as they can get a bit plain and jelak (it's just the patty + mayo, no veg). No regrets trying, but I dont think I'll have them again.

Situated in Paragon, Akashi offers mid-tier japanese options including Sushi, Sashimi, Bento Sets, and Yakimono options. With a range of food options, this definitely caters to all budgets, be it a casual lunch or a celebration. Recommended !

Haven’t been visiting this restaurant for ages. This revisit is a disappointment and mark my last visit. The food quality and standard seem to have dropped so much! Sad to say. Lunch set pricing is reasonable but the taste is very average.

The bestttt Ebi Katsu burger I’ve had! And the ebi patty was oh-soooo-meaty. Crisp on the outside, substantial inside. Their Golden brown burgers are worth a try, it’s not on their usual menu so do check with them the availability when you dine there! Their garlic fried rice is also another gem that we fell in love with. It’s now at the top of my list, one of the best garlic fried rice I’ve had in awhile.
