β β β β β Nice and comfort food with the right portion of rice & tempura (vege, seafood and chicken). Itβs a balance meal with carbs and protein, I order the signature set which come with soup and chawanmushi. $17.90 I think is good price for a meal like this. Will definitely visit again!

β β β β β Picture is unedited. Ordered their signature Kohaku Tendon with original sauce. The sauce drizzled on the rice was a tad too sweet to my liking. Fritters were okay - tempura and mushroom are the best among the rest. Rice is well cooked too. Overall a good meal!

β β β β β A very close competitor to Tenjin - I'd say their tendons are really tasty with a choice of white rice or healthier grains. The fried ingredients are tasty and tendon sauce is provided for those that like a sweeter flavor with every bite. Chawanmushi comes with the set and it's rather good. Green tea is refillable. Will definitely come back if around the area and craving for tendon.

I had the Kohaku Tendon in spicy sauce set that come with a bowl of udon as well. My Kohaku Tendon came filled with variety of crispy tendons; prawn, squid, long bean, young corn, pumpkin, chicken, crabstick and mushroom atop a bed of fluffy rice with spicy sauce drizzled all over the tendon. Yes the generosity of ingredients served ? For the price, it was definitely a steal. I choose multi-grains rice here and it goes really well with the tasty spicy sauce.
I love how the tempura was deep fried in a fresh, crispy, umami fritter and there isnβt an oily aftertaste even after wiping the bowl clean.
I wanted to try Crispy Unagi Dragon Roll but was sold out, leaving me with Chawanmushi with Unagi and Ikura. Came with a piece of steamed Unagi topped with blobs of ikura on top of the chawanmushi that is smooth and wobbly.
The udon not to be taken lightly too. Is chewy, springy, slurp worthy and tasty!

β β β β β Ordered the Kohaku Tendon set with white Japanese rice and mala sauce. The mala sauce is only available at this outlet, so it's worth trying.
First time dining at this restaurant, and was pleasantly surprised by the food quality. The set is definitely good value.

β β β β β To be honest when you taste the best in town others are just sideshows. This to be exact is 3.5 star for passing and 0.5 for the extra spicy sauce. If you compare to those compromise stuff like a certain chain that serve halal version ( no mirin) . This is cloud nine. Tempura is fried good , not oily or soggy . Rice is cooked very well , grain by grain you could feel them . At least this has a spirit and soul . Ambiance wise is a Japanese settings in a small place but comes with booth and big table. Rather cosy atmosphere. Could be a four star , however when I compared with the best in town , this fall short of the glory.

β β β β β Really impressive, the most tasty Japanese food I had in sg. The sauce is very sweet and fragrant, the tempura is light and reveals juicy veg/meat. It doesn't taste oily. The rice is whole grain Japanese rice.
? Recommend seafood and kakiage truffle Don! β¨
P. S. Don't stuff yourself as the oil is very hard to digest and will make you nauseated at night.

β β β β β Prowling around Clark Quay Central for dinner options, discovered an outstanding tempura restaurant. We ordered their standard tempura set with spicy sauce, it comes with chawanmushi and drink, and the portion is decently generous. And the ingredients used and truly fresh and coupled with the delightful tempura crust and savoury sauce.. resulted in an awesome dinner. Will definitely return in future :)
