Good value high tea in a lovely setting. Four hors d’oeuvres, a substantial main course (choice of salmon, chicken, rib), scones and cakes. And a great selection of tea.

Only the mains tasted okay. For the price range ($88++), the taste and quality of the sandwiches and desserts were not up to my expectations. Sandwiches were okay but nothing to wow about. Scones were dry which was disappointing, and the jam was extremely sweet. The other desserts were also too sugary and the taste was not refined.

Well lit & spacious dining area. Tables are well-spaced apart with comfy armchairs and sofas. I had the Luzerne seasonal menu, which includes appetisers, a choice of main course and desserts. The main of beef tenderloin, medium doneness, was well-executed. The scones were buttery and fragrant although the cranberry ones were rather dry. Desserts had a good balance of sweet and tart flavours. The 3 courses don't look like much but they made for a very substantial lunch-cum-tea. Service was good. The staff will go around the tables to refill your teapot with hot water. Coffee (iced/ hot) is also available, check with your server. 180 min free parking for diners was much appreciated. A great experience overall. Excellent value at $78++ for 2 persons.

came by on a Sunday for their special pink menu.. very lovely place where one can really relax & enjoy the tea & food. we had their signature sandwiches, one entree each & a tower of pink desserts that was too much for our full bellies.. ended up having to pack some of the desserts home. the hubby actually thought it was $88 per pax.. & was happily surprised when it was $88 per set for 2.. β™‘

Had the high tea set for 2 at $90 after tax. Scones were dry and hard which is a disappointment. The rest of the dishes is not bad. You get a free glass of wine for every person wearing red. The tea was just Normal in tea bags. Beef was flavourful but tough don’t expect too much. Overall good value as you get a lunch to go with dessert.

The buffet at rose veranda now serves a 2 set menu at $108+. They can serve 1 set but at a premium so it’s $59 for 1 set. You can select main entry and the rest is fixed. My husband ordered the short rib and it was good. We all know how wonderful is ambiance of shangri-la hotel and rose varanda is nice peeking over the lobby, swimming pool and garden. One star in this review deducted because of some miss-communication. Host said you can get 1 set at half the price of their 2 set pricing of $108, however bill came and it was not the case. There is a 10% premium for 1 set versus 2. Secondly, upon asking server if there is credit card discounts offered like in the past, she responded by saying prices are already cheap, which I thought unnecessary.

Festive menu at $108++ for 2 pax. Main courses (we chose a salmon & a turkey) aren't too impressive. Desserts were good. Service and ambience were good too.
