The dim sum at Shang Palace is truly a legend - every meal I had so far was pure enjoyment. It's a place where I would bring family and friends who are of high importance to me as the food never fails to awe my guests. Today, however, I would have to make an exception to raise up a concern that should never happen in any restaurant, let alone a Michelin Star restaurant. While waiting for our dim sum items to be served, I noticed that my cup has a lipstick stain - obviously left behind by another customer as I did not wear lipstick. I highlighted to the service staff, she apologised and swiftly changed a fresh new cup for me.... but alas, the lipstick was STILL THERE (half of it). As such, I am not sure if the service staff changed a fresh new cup for me or she simply tried to wipe off the lipstick mark but did not do the job properly. This is appalling because we are still in the midst of covid season and even if it wasn't a pandemic period, this hygiene standard of a reputable restaurant is highly questionable. I have to add that the restaurant is not full nor busy. So there is really no excuse for this. The service staff did nothing else except looked at me with a worried expression, so I don't have the heart to publicise her name in case she is being penalised. Other than that, I am thankful that food quality is amazing and my friend received a plate of birthday cake which was very presentable. It was generous for the restaurant to accede to my request of a birthday surprise. I do hope the restaurant looks into the above hygiene issue seriously.

I made a reservation for lunch on Dec 19th. Overall, the food was okay, though I thought the avocado and shrimp were not well integrated in β€œDeep-fried Avocado and Shrimp Rolls” as well as the pork belly in β€œTraditional Steamed Buns with Roasted Pork Belly and Yam” tasted more like steamed rather than roasted. Much contrary to the food experience, I’m sorry but I have to say the service could be described as β€œhorrible”. 1. I missed the call from your restaurant on Dec 18th, I called back several times after that but none of the calls was answered. 2. When I ordered, the waiters told me that I should leave the restaurant before 1 pm. Though I didn’t receive any information about this allotted seating time when I reserved, I thought it was okay and accepted without hesitation. 3. At almost 12:30pm, one of the waitresses (a Chinese lady with long hair) started reminding us that we should leave before 1pm since there were customers waiting outside already. We speeded up with a little confusion: why didn’t the waiters send the customers in given that there were still available tables. From that onwards, I couldn’t remember the exact number of the times that waitress β€œreminded” us, while the number definitely exceeded four. 4. When we nearly finished all the food on the table around 12:50pm, that waitress literally snatched the cutlery of my friend with an angry face without saying anything as soon as my friend put down her chopsticks while I was still eating. 5. When we checked out, that waitress didn’t bother to ask my membership. 6. We still made it before 1pm, but when we went outside the restaurant, there were no one waiting. By the way, there were always available tables in the restaurant.

Our family visited the restaurant today (18Mar). It is a very popular one in Singapore and is always fully booked. Our heartfelt attitude to Eric Leong who helped us with the reservation. We knew Eric for almost 9yrs and always trust his recommendation and service. We are glad to see him again! Service is impeccable as usual, as he well understood our family's need and always able to recommend the dishes and quantity to satisfy all the tummies. Tea is refilled timely and we enjoyed the small talks together with the words of concerns to the boys. We love the ambience of the restaurant. It's the perfect location for business lunch, gatherings and special celebrations. Request for the booth seat if you want to swarm your social media with pictures, or a private corner for our sweet whisperings. The menu and dishes are specially crafted and curated to seduce your taste buds. From instangrammable dim sum, to chef Mok's signature dishes, I am sure there is something to please every one. This Michelin-starred Shang Palace is a must-visit for all locals and tourists alike, for their tantalizing food and perfect service!

With 1 star Michelin I would expect high standard. Food wise rather disappointing especially the expensive abalone is not well cooked as it is chewy.. the Cantonese restaurant typically has high standard of cooking the abalone! The soya pan fried prawn was so good , good balance of saltiness with slightly char outside to make wok hei. The squid perfectly cooked till tenderness with intense seafood taste. The fry glass noodle with preserved Vege and mushrooms added some spiciness is nice. The soup was yummy and the Cantonese style fry glutinous rice with preserved sausages that typically eat during winter season is super yummy! The service is attentive and I would expect the restaurant shall quickly make up on my feedback of the abalone on the same day.

Good food, decent service. There was a slight blemish in our experience though, as it took awhile for the food to be served, and also because they missed a dish we had clearly marked on the order chit - which they were not too apologetic about.

Exquisite Chinese restaurant inside Shangri la hotel Singapore. Food taste is good and refined, love their pig trotter, roast duck. Wide variety of dim sum and great selection in their menu as well. Service is impeccable. Special compliments to one of the captains Mr Eric Leong, who was friendly and attentive and helped to make our meal and birthday celebration at Shang Palace a very memorable one!

Delicious Chinese food with subtle flavours and very beautiful presentation. The sweet potato dumplings, the stir fried green beans and tofu, potato strips, vegetables cooked in a pumpkin, and the coconut jelly with ice cream were mouthwatering! The ambience is lovely, service excellent.

Pleasant dinner experience for a fixed menu with champagne pairing, although the dishes were not the chef's signature dishes. Enjoyed the braised scallop dumpling with birds nest, and traditional steamed cod fish was a favorite. The sautΓ©ed king prawn and fried rice topped with abalone was savory without being excessively salty. Service was good as there were sufficient staff.
