Ordered kway chap and observing how is the food being prepared. He opened a takeaway box from nowhere and pour out the kway chap ingredients onto the plate. the food is quite cold and has a weird smell, especially small intestine. Never again...

A basic plate of braised duck rice costs $3 here. I asked to add more meat. The guy asked me whether I wanted $4 or $5. I said $5. He prepared the food and then claimed he gave me $6.50 worth of meat, and so $6.50 is due. The food is not bad for its price, though the standard has dropped considerably since Hong Lim reopened. But I generally do not patronise places which do this kind of nonsense. There are other duck/braised duck stalls at Hong Lim.

Worth the wait. (20 Apr 2021) update There is usually a long queue but it was late lunch so queue was bearable. The duck meat is de-boned and soft. Goes well with the chilli. Soup has herbal taste. They ran out of the dark rice so took the white rice instead. Added tau gua and total costs $3.50. I had the kway chap 2 years ago.

For Month March 2021 Well my first time ordering this food and dine at there. The guy looks not so Good in customer service. Anyway the meat was okay. But it came with LOTS of the Duck Skin !! The Soup is tasty though. Price is Very affordable.

Level 2, Kway Chap set for $3.50, cheapest around here. The serving is generous with more than enough of pig skins, pork belly, tofu, Taupok two halves of an egg, and pig tongue which is surprisingly tasting good, dressed in a creamy thick soya sauce. The Kway Teow in Soya Sauce soup is a bit of overly salt, but that’s the style here. Overall great food, the $3.50 set meal is well very worthy of it compared to the level 1 selling at $4:50 a set. The hawkers are friendly too. Sure to come back.

Very affordable kway chap. The set costs $3.50 and you can add small and large intestines at only $1.50 per portion. However, the ingredients were not very well braised - my jaws were quite tired after all the chewing. Also, there was a lack of frangrance in the broth and sauce. The small intestines were perfectly done though (soft and tasty). Stall owners were pleasant and hygenic.

Kweh chap $4, comes along with duck meat portions as well. value for money! The kweh is not bad but not as soft as I prefer, and braise sauce not so flavourful though..
