β β β β β The portion is terribly miserable. And the sushi is simply pathetic. Look at the rice portion. Took longer time than expected to receive the food.

β β β β β Queue time seems longer now that COVID-19 measures ease. It helps to use their App to book a queue number in advance. Felt that their food price had increased (invisibly) by reduction in quantity. Fortunately, food quality still as good.

β β β β β Honestly Iβm disappointed with their foods portion and taste today. Genki used to be the best value sushi place for me but over the years with its expansion in Singapore, some outlets arenβt upholding the previous quality and standards.
By the way, the queue system is pretty bad today. Thankfully we got takeaway otherwise I would have waited from 6:40pm to 9pm for only a table for 3β¦ after tasting the food at home, Iβm certain that I will not come to this outlet regularly, thought they are here to win Sushi Tei, Sushi Express etc. but more work needs to be done.

β β β β β I am a sushi lover and i went japan a lot of times just to eat sushi. Trust me!
Saw some people saying portion is too little.
But i feel the portion for the sushi (rice:meat) is ok.
Rice portion is good small and easy to eat.
Rice texture and consistence is good - moist and soft
Meat portion to rice is ok.
Only 1 bad thing is the rice cant stick together. Use chopstick kiap sometimes will break.
Fish freshness is ok too considering it is singapore. Japan sushi freshness is a whole new level.
Service is ok but something weird is why the table has no serviette and no free green tea? Green tea is very good to cleanse your palate and enjoy more sushi taste.
Therefore i give 4/5 stars if can give free green tea and make the rice hold better i would have gave full stars.

β β β β β Everyoneβs go to Japanese restaurant since 2011. They finally expanded to Yishun!
For 2 pax, we spent around $20/pax, pretty reasonable given the amount we had. Some of the must tryβs are 3 flavour salmon, mentai tamago, DMZ series and chawamushi.
This place can be hard to find, itβs on level 2 of Northpoint. Always trying to find my way around the mall, but itβs conveniently located at Yishun MRT.
Expect long queue and waiting time - despite the membership, it took us an hour to get in, and another 30mins for our food. To be frank, thatβs the only downside of genki, because itβs deliciously affordable. To me, itβs a quick service restaurant in disguise. But nonetheless, Iβm always down for genki.

β β β β β This outlet cannot make it and I will not patronise them even again.
I waited for 45 minutes for the orders to be served.( That is why there is a long queue and customer siting inside doing nothing)
Reason is the kitchen is having lunch break ?ββοΈ.
Please dun go to this outlet the food potion is very little I felt like a beggar, either they drag your order or totally forget your order .
The cashier also very rude when I feedback the service level is not acceptable.

β β β β β Apart from long Q (we were lucky, can get last minutes entry, 40 mins before closure), overall good dining experience. Super nice Sushi and Don, especially the Pork Don, as well as order was taken online with pretty fast turnaround time. The green tea is also nice and can be "refilled" few times by topping up hot water.

β β β β β Do take note of the extremely long waiting hours if you wish to dine here during peak hours. I would say that if you do not make a prior reservation, it would be almost impossible to be a walk in customer.
The food at Genki is great, definitely a notch better than Sushi Express. It is also delivered quickly to your table after ordering. Do note that you have to scan the QR code that is given to you which contains the full menu.
The food here is not consistent. There are times when it taste better or are more generous with their servings/ portions.
Nonetheless, this is a great place to get your sushi fix (if you manage to get a seat).
