Very unimpressed by every aspect of dining here. Once we seated, the waitress asked us what tea we wanted. When we asked for water instead, the attitude immediately changed as she felt we were either not "big-spenders" or uncooperative. Some dishes were decent, but we expected way better for the price paid. Mediocre food + high-ish prices makes for a negative experience :(

The food was average IMO. Worst part is that the food did not look like the food in menu esp the cabbage with Ham and Pig Ears. Very disappointing. Stewed pork and buns - meat was pretty tough. Peas in shrimp in truffle was not my thing. Deep fried eel, Xiao Long Baos and the stew brinjal were the OK dishes I felt. Price wise - not very cheap.

I think 'fine dining' should be taken off the name of the restaurant. Or am I misunderstanding the concept of this restaurant? Dish presentation is sorely lacking. Just refer to the picture of my smoked duck dish below. Presention was equally as cold as the staff which served our dishes, who mostly just dumped the plates on our table wirhout saying a word. Btw this was one of the few places that took 'half duck' very literally. The duck's head was served half cut down the middle. Tip for the restaurant, you can leave it off the plate. Of course this could be ignored at the end of the day if food was good. Unfortunately, the restaurant fell short in this department as well. Duck was dry , too salty ,and tough.and the wontons in spicy sauce which we ordered had not much meat on them as well. We took a chance on this place as a Chinese restaurant on the same floor was packed. Should have gone to the food court downstairs instead. I've been to Zi char places with much better value to price ratios, and much warmer service.

No doubt, the quality is good as matching the price. The Xiao long bao is surprisingly not as good as expected, with the skin is so thick and no pork fragrance. The portion overall is also very small. But as a Shanghaiese I can assure this is among a few restaurants in Singapore which serve good and authentic Shanghai food. I am hoping to see they can expand the food to even more local foods, like 鱔糊面、雪菜肉絲面. But I'm sure getting the ingredients which be a big problem.

What a disappointment experience here ❗️❗️ First the service, secondly the food ❗️ We have booked this with deposit way long before CNY and was excited to dine in here with my family. We even chose the CNY set menu, expecting it to be special and would have a wonderful experience. Upon arriving the restaurant, the staffs ever greeted customers and confirmed the menu with the person who booked the table. After we seated, the waitress A was asking us what tea we would wanted. As we wanted to reply her, waitress B interrupted waitress A by saying we have already chosen the tea, WHICH WE DID NOT. But at that moment, we were still fine and okay with the tea they serve despite we didn’t choose that. But the waitress B who was serving us was super rude (long hair). The way she put the dishes on the table, not clearing and replacing plates, FORGETTING utensils, and letting us to wait for her so we could tell her we needed another set of utensils. We didn’t manage to get her, but luckily there was one short hair waitress attended us, and she was good. Too bad we didn’t manage to get her name or else I’ll definitely email and feedback about her. Ruins the reunion dinner on this wonderful day of our CNY eve. The dishes were terrible, rice cake was tasteless (not savory) and if we were to say, it was salty ONLY. The abalone was not braised at all, but it’s the best among all dishes. Most of the dishes weren’t good so we even added one more dish. Lastly the dessert weren’t served separately as the staffs should have know the osmanthus jelly are easily break into pieces when we tried to pick it to our plate. Overall, food was still not bad but we had spent over $700+ and get this kind of services ❓ NO NO to the Aunty waitress❗️BAD SERVICES ❗️

Dined twice over two days at @imperialtreaduresg Shanghai less than a week ago. First, it was lunch with a good friend who had suggested going there. And then I returned for a family dinner with my in-laws the following evening. Thus, here is a consolidation of the items from both meals I’d happily repeat: 1. Smoked Japanese Eggs ($7++ each) - They do them in a Chinese wine marinade too but this style was my preferred. A sprinkle of salt is a must. 2. Minced Spinach Salad ($14++) - Possibly the cutest way to eat your veg - compressed into cubes. I really like the fragrance from the sesame oil seasoning too. 3. Panfried Shanghai Pork Dumplings ($6.60++) - The crisped surface adds welcome aroma and texture to each juicy pork-filled, soft-skin parcel. 4. Grilled Buns with Minced Meat ($6.60++) - The soft, cushiony texture of the buns here is impeccable, and the soupy filling, very tasty. 5. Noodles in Shallot Oil ($15++) - Despite its simple appearance, the fragrant, al dente noodles are addictive. 6. Sautéed Lettuce Stem ($14++) - Beautiful presentation aside, the chilled hand-cut “petals” are crunchy, succulent and refreshing. 7. Deepfried Beancurd Skin Rolls with Mushrooms ($14++) - Lived up to expectations with that very crispy exterior and flavourful filling of braised mushrooms. 8. Marinated Jellyfish ($18++) - Cut from the head section, the pieces are less stringy (read: rubbery) and more “piece-y” which delivers a more enjoyable kind of tender crunch. One of the best chilled jellyfish appetisers I’ve come across. 9. Drunken Chicken ($18++) - Ultra succulent and potent in the taste of Chinese wine, it has a skin I deigned to eat. 10. Double-boiled Pork Meatball Soup ($15++) - The giant ball of meat is very soft and the soup is unparalleled in sweetness from the plentiful Chinese Cabbage. 11. Stewed Beancurd and Minced Meat in “Mapo” Sauce ($26++) - There’s a hint of numbing heat about the spiciness that hits the spot. They don’t overdo the stewing, so the soft tofu retains a clean taste and the overall isn’t oily. 12. Fried Glutinous Balls with Sesame ($8++) - The piping hot balls are large and scrumptious. 13. Glutinous Rice Balls in Sweet Fermented Wine Soup ($6++) - If you appreciate the smell and taste of fermented wine, this dessert is something you should not miss. I love it personally. 14. Pumpkin Cookies ($8++) - Pleasantly stretchy and chewy, it’s all about texture here but with the benefit of a pumpkin’s tastiness. I find it quite similar to 年号 (“Nian Gao”) the traditional Chinese glutinous rice cake eaten during the Lunar New Year. Decided to sign up for @imperialtreasuresg’s membership on the spot after my second meal since I really enjoy dining at the restaurants under this group. The $88 I paid for the membership sounded like good value given what it includes.

Authentic shanghainese food and consistently delivers good food. Went over the long weekend and business was very busy. Had to call and order in advance and food was really good. Must order the sides, truffle pea pods with prawn, smoked duck. Ask for their captain for customised menu for special dinner guests.
