β β β β β I was referred to Dr Landon 1.5 years ago by my dogβs primary vet after she presented with a slight dragging hind leg and mild incontinence. However, she was still generally healthy and ambulatory (i.e. walking). She was 11+ at the time. Dr Landon came highly recommended, so I trusted his prognosis and proposed treatment. Based on the CT scan performed by him, my dog had two ruptured spinal discs. Dr Landon said that the best option was surgery, and that based on his assessment, she would eventually lose her mobility if we didnβt operate. We were told that the odds of her not regaining full mobility post-surgery were low and that she was most certainly going to lose mobility if we chose not to do the surgery. Presented with such options, my partner and I agreed to the expensive surgery (although we were a bit hesitant because she was still very mobile at the time of diagnosis) because we wanted to give her the best quality of life possible within our means.
Immediately post-surgery, my dog was in an absolutely tragic state. She had lost complete mobility of both her hind legs, she was dishevelled and covered with injuries (supposedly from flinging herself around the clinicβs metal enclosure due to distress from being in an unfamiliar place and possibly the shock and confusion of suddenly not being able to walk), and she had very poor appetite. Despite her dismal state, Dr Landon assured us that based on his assessment, it was a matter of WHEN she would walk again, not IF. He said we just had to start her on regular hydrotherapy and she would be on her way to regaining her mobility. So we did. Six months of hardcore hydrotherapy and home therapy later, and my dog was no closer to walking than the day she left Dr Landonβs clinic. Not only that, she developed a head tilt soon after, indicating possible vestibular disease. Her quality of life had dropped so drastically, my heart broke into a million pieces.
But what left an even worse taste in my mouth was that after we had her stitches removed a couple of weeks post-surgery, we never heard back from Dr Landon or any of his staff. There was no review scheduled, no follow-up to find out how his patient was faring. Nothing. It was adding insult to injury. Not only had my dogβs mobility and quality of life been seemingly robbed, there seemed to be zero concern about how she was doing the moment I foot the final bill. A few months after the surgery, I made a call and penned an email to Landon Veterinary Specialists to express my disappointment at their lack of follow-up for such a major surgery. It was only after I called that they scheduled an appointment. But the appointment was even more off-putting. Dr Landon, his wife (who is also a vet there) and their staff seemed indignant about my suggestion that they appeared unconcerned about their patient(s) and he seemed almost annoyed that he had to perform this cursory βreviewβ that he obviously deemed unnecessary.
Based on a recent diagnosis by a vet who specialises in canine rehabilitation, it is likely that the manner in which the surgery was done might have resulted in chronic pain, which has hindered her recovery and mobility. Iβm pained that she has spent the last 18 months with a greatly compromised quality of life when she could have been relatively happy and healthy. My dog has spent the last 18 months either lying down, briefly sitting up or being carried. Even being partially mobile and mildly incontinent would have been better than her life post-surgery. Iβm fairly certain the surgery has compromised her physical and psychological capacity to cope with subsequent age-related ailments and greatly compromised her quality of life. Iβm filled with regret and sadness every day for trusting a veterinary professional and supposed expert in his field who obviously has no compassion for his patients beyond what he earns from their surgeries.

β β β β β Very professional and detailed in explaining my dog's condition in simple terms to make sure i understand what is going on in my dog. And the friendly and patient staffs over the counter will call up to follow up with us and ensure things are okay on our side. Few years ago my dog was already there for his luxating patella issues and ruptured cruciate ligaments in his hind legs. And Dr Landon's and his team's professionalism have always given us the reassurance that my dog is getting the best care that he ever needs. Recently this year, my dog suddenly couldnt walk and we visited a few vets before one of the vet at Mt Pleasant suggested us to go back to Dr Landon to carry out the Bone and Spinal Tap Tests to confirm if he has Immune-mediated polyarthritis and we are so glad that we did the test for the early discovery of the pain that my dog is suffering from. Now my dog is doing so much better with the medication prescribed by Dr Landon. Their team is not only knowledgeable, but also genuinely have the best interests and care for our dog. So thankful to them all these years!

β β β β β Thank you Dr Landon, Dr Brandon and the amazing team for taking care of my senior JRT, Sam, when he went in for surgery!
We found a MCT in Sam's inner thigh that required to be removed. As the growth was at a challenging location, my regular vet recommended that I consulted with Dr Landon as he is a surgeon specialist. We were able to get an appointment very promptly and Sam went straight for surgery on the day of the consult. I really like that I didn't have to come on a separate day for that. Dr Landon was also really patient in answering all my questions.
The team really took care of Sam when he was there. Sam, being a rather whiny and needy boy, received a lot of love, attention and assurance by the team. While it was tough that I couldn't be there for him, I was very comforted by the care that he was given when he was there.
The updates from the vet and team were prompt and detailed. They kept me updated even when his biopsy results were delayed and they also called to check on him the next day.
Thank you once again for taking such great care of Sam and for treating him like your own! Sam is so loved!

β β β β β Very impressed with this 24hr emergency Pet clinic! The Vet and Nurses are full of love and patience for my Pet dog. They will give regular updates via WA and even sent videos of my dog during his admission. They even call me to follow up on my dog's condition even after he was discharged.

β β β β β Very professional and skilled surgeon. He is very detailed and clearly explains the issue and possible options available.
The team is also great at post-op follow-up. They called me in the subsequent day/s to ensure everything is going well after the surgery. Girly and I are very grateful for all you've done. 5*

β β β β β Required emergency assistance however the junior staff canβt even handle or carry my bunny when she is trying to guide us how to feed my bunny for medication.
As for Dr Xiaojia, she doesnβt seems to be βthatβ professional to me. Disappointed when heading down and spending $39x.xx when getting this kind of service.
Tried Perrovets, they are totally professional and polite throughout the whole process⦠highly recommended.

β β β β β We went to Landon's emergency around 9pm a week ago with an appointment for our bunny's front paw issue. Told and understood by staff that any urgent patient/pets will be treated first then we started our 3-hour waiting outside. Had a call with doctor around 9.30pm telling me the elbow could be misplaced inside then suggested us to do an X-ray which is around 600 dollars. Having no choice then agreed to proceed, after which the bones misplacement was confirmed but no X-ray photos will be passed to us either physically or through email, which is super weird. Then waited another few hours till almost midnight then doctor called and told me they are not good at handling small animals like bunny. Then suggested a few other vet clinics and billed me in total around 700 dollars. Reaching home around 1pm and got my bunny untreated and spent 700 bucks for a X-ray which I have even not seen. The next day went to recommended clinic and asked for staff from Landon to send over X-ray files, called three times and waited almost 50min then they finally send the document over. Why not send it to me in the first place through email? Many weird details and really an unpleasant experience, same thing for my pet bunny.

β β β β β Our dog Charlie had a slipped disk that made his bottom half including two legs nearly paralized. He could feel, but not move at all. Dr. Landon told us Charlie is most likely to recover quickly after a surgery, and he was right! Charlie came back home after 2 days of surgery when he was able to stand on his own. He could walk about 4-5 days after the surgery, and run in 2 weeks! Thank you Dr. Landon and the clinic's staff ?
