SEIKO Boutique managed by City Chain - Takashimaya - Orchard Rd

Had a pleasant experience and bought my first grand seiko in this boutique. Benz was really patient with my queries and ensured that I had a great experience. Highly recommended and would visit this boutique again!

I have been to this Seiko boutique many times. Recently I learnt from the staff that it opened in 2019, and is the flagship Seiko boutique in Singapore, having the widest range. The service at this store is impeccable. Unobtrusive, welcoming and friendly and knowledgeable. I think it speaks a lot that the store has a wide-open door and no staff standing outside the door, that this is a much more approachable and friendly storefront. The manager and staff at this store actively encourage you to try on pieces and to let them know if there's anything you'd like to try. As someone who doesn't really try on pieces that I am not likely to buy, I actually hadn't tried on any Grand Seiko models before a trip to this boutique. The manager (the guy with the spectacles) and I had a conversation about various GS models, me asking him about special editions in the US and EU markets, him telling me that in the Asia region Thong Sia (sole distributor of Seiko) does have some special editions too, and pointed to a brown-dialed GS on his wrist. Eventually I must've let slip that my favourite GS is the Snowflake, and although I was hesitant to try it, he just took the Snowflake and other Spring Drive steel watches out for me to try. This level of service impressed me a lot and ultimately worked out well too as I am now more comfortable with the staff at this boutique and have tried on many more GS pieces. Suffice to say that my next luxury watch purchase will definitely be a GS from this boutique! Recently I was also looking for a ladies watch as a gift. I saw a small collection of Seiko Lukia female watches at City Chain Vivocity and asked the staff there where I could find a larger collection. They told me to check out the Seiko boutique at Ngee Ann City. I was not disappointed and the Seiko at Ngee Ann did have the Lukia model I was looking for. The manager of the boutique had Rozana tend to me as it was clear I was looking for a female watch. She quickly knew which model I was looking for although I did not know the model number and only told her I saw it on the main Seiko website. She gave some very helpful advice that the red model was "very red and hard to match" which I agreed with although I had wanted the red one at first. I returned another day to pick up the watch after I had told Rozana to reserve the watch for me over WhatsApp. This time I also came with a friend and we had the pleasure of trying on a variety of GS models including ones that caught my eye but aren't my natural choices, e.g. GS quartz GMT models. All the time the service was knowledgeable and friendly. Having visited several watch stores and ADs in the past, and all being a fair comparison since I have not purchased from any of them before, I confidently assert that the service at this Seiko boutique is the best in my opinion. Great job to management and staff at this store for being knowledgeable yet not foisting it upon less knowledgeable customers! (I've had the experience at a luxury AD somewhere nearby in Orchard where the salesperson actually scoffed when we did not know something about watches, shocking but true.)

The store manager, Benz has both a vast & deep knowledge of the various Seiko & Grand Seiko models. The dials on these watches are truly a mesmerising. When paired together with a spring drive movement, the sweeping of the secondhand feels like a match made in heaven. I urge you to drop by this outlet and experience it for yourself. ??
