The long queue is a testament to this delicious bowl of Lor Mee, especially during a rainy day. For $3 a bowl, Ingredients are simple, just sufficient and well harmonised with the sauce. Add raw garlic, cilantro and Chili to finish off this simple yet satisfying bowl of goodness.

Always have a queue form up, be ready to enjoy a freshly cook bowl of braised suacey noodle. The sauce sticks to the noodles very well, the chilli and garlics goes well to the noodle. Try to enjoy the food there for maximum taste. Price starts from $3.50 so it's quite affordable. Staff is friendly and can communicate in English and Chinese

The $5 lor mee portion is relatively small, doesn't give me the wow factor compare to what I had in Old Airport Hawker Centre. Taste slightly above average. Plus point is you could add in the amount of condiments you prefer by your own. In the hawker centre house another 2 famous Lor Mee Stall which also often attract long queue.

After so many years the taste is still the same, and yummy. I was visiting from Malaysia and during my 2 days of visit in Singapore I had my daily fix of breakfast there. ?

Typical case of if you want it good, you have to do it yourself. I have been having the lor mee here for years. And if you're familiar with this stall the last few years, you will know the star chef is a chubby auntie whom ask your order, cook the noodles, stirr the noodles in broth, pick the toppings, and pass to a skinny auntie to top up the broth and collect payment. An old uncle non-stop kept frying battered fish chunks, just behind the counter. If you are here for breakfast or lunch, be prepared to queue the better part of 40 mins and more. Or come for a late lunch at 2pm and risk them already sold out for the day. Today I am here at 2pm after a long Covid stay home haitus. Hokkien mee, Roasts still the usual long queue. Hmmm no queue, walk right up. Go for it. First thing first, no chubby auntie. Skinny auntie takes the helm.... Okayyyy and no old uncle either, 2 sombre young boys doing the rest. Same $4 order I had for years. When presented and brought to my table, hey did the noodle just shrank? Or I seem to remember the young chap collect payment but forgot to top up the broth. Brought it back, ask for broth topup which the boy did, straight faced. Skinny Auntie couldn't be bothered. Stirring into my favourite lor mee, the fried fish became 2 small lumps of thick batter. Dig and dig just to find 2 thin and puny strips of braised pork belly, the previous star of the show. The only star left and awarded is that the broth is still consistent. So chubby auntie, if you still own this stall, I suggest you come back and check them properly. Or if the stall is sold to skinny auntie, you might want to remove your pictures with the minister displayed. It's disappointing and feels like a con job. I will go somewhere else for my lor mee fix in awhile to come. 13 October 2021 updates Dropped by for a quick lunch. Imagine my surprise to see the stall fronted by chubby auntie, skinny auntie again and the old uncle frying fish. Try supporting again. In general, still the star is always the Lor broth. For a $4 portion, the broth is quite little, but today's broth is unfortunately way too thick in the form of starch mixed in to thicken. Taste is OK, quite fragrant but some undesolved starch bit can be found in the broth. Next, while the flat noodles are cooked just right, the Lor ba or braised pork belly is way too lean and tough. Fried dory fish doesn't do much for me, neither is the ngoh hiang pieces. Only saving grace is the help yourself chillies, garlic and black vinegar to amp up your broth. Walked away jerlat much and really should have walk across to Loo's for a hearty Hainanese Lor ba rice. Apparently they have a Balestier branch now. Though if you type into Google Map, you see quite a few more branches. Wonder are they legit. Anyhow I won't be in a hurry to come back. 26 Jan 2022 Update Was planning on a delish lunch either the Sotong Mee (Q too long argggh) or the Tiong Bahru Char Kway Teow (Closed argghhhhh) or the 178 Shark Meat Lor Mee (sold out at 1pm argggghh) Thus imagine my surprise, this Lor Mee zero queue and fronted by chubby auntie. OK better be good. $5 and I am well rewarded this time. Noodles and crunchy beansprouts perfectly cooked, no alkaline taste. Thick thick flavourful Lor, braised broth filled up to the brim. A dense pack bowl of ingredients including lean and fat braised meat, ngo hiang slices, fish cake slices, a whole braised egg in 2 halves, 4 pieces of fried fish and a fried wanton. In all honesty all you need is the tasty Lor bak, noodles, bean sprout and the thick braised broth and you're in Lor Mee heaven. Wonderful lunch and upgraded them back to 4 star. Please be consistent the next time I come. Pics update

I am a regular customer here for years way b4 cb period. I preferred this stall to the other popular one as this stall the gravy very tasty, they are also very generous with their toppings and ingredient. But after cb i came back to this market a lot of things changed. This stall had increased price, the ingredient are not as generous as last time and the gravy given are very little. Barely enough to coat all the noodles. I had to go back to ask for more gravy 3 times now, which never happened before. Good thing is taste is still good.
