Would NOT recommend sending your pet here. My husband brought our dog in as she was having diarrhea and they ran an expensive blood test with no conclusion. No fecal test was done despite knowing that she was having diarrhea. Additionally, the medication they gave only made her worse the next day. We were prescribed Cisapride - (from google) a medication used to enhance the movement of the gastrointestinal (GI) system to treat conditions such as stasis, reflux, and constipation. So we had to deal with watery stool every hour the following night. Questionable method to get diagnosis - running unnecessary tests. Questionable dispensing of medication - erm like my dog is already having diarrhea but they prescribe a medicine for constipation and to help with bowel movement. I would STRONGLY recommend you to think twice before sending your pets here. It felt like they were taking advantage of us. Oh by the way my husband had to wait 3 hours just to see the vet as well. So unless you have a lot of free time and money, please just go to a different emergency vet.

Took my dog here last night because of severe vomiting. As we’re only 15 minutes away we didn’t call ahead. When we arrived we were told there would be a minimum 1-2 hours wait to see the vet- which was then extended to three hours when they had another phone call to say another animal was on the way. When I queried, they said we should have called ahead. The three stars are for a very kind and compassionate nurse called Janice who taught me the signs of dehydration to look for and how to assess my dog (when I quite frankly told them I wasn’t willing to wait three hours to be seen). Fortunately my dog’s usual vet diagnosed his intestinal obstruction the following morning and gave the appropriate medical care. I suggest if you do require their services out of hours that you call ahead.

I took my labrador to Westside Emergency after she had ingested pieces of a toy ball which contained batteries and LED lights, since my usual vet clinic was not open at the time. She was promptly handled with care, and Dr. Tan Kate Lin was very clear, thorough, and sensible in her consultation with me. I highly recommend this place.

We have (unfortunately) had to use their services several times in the year we’ve had our cats - once for a bad cut that needed stitches and overnight hospitalization, one for swallowed mask strings, and once a call consult where they walked us through how to stop our cat’s bleeding nail ourselves. Every experience has been professional, thorough, and reassuring through some pretty gnarly experiences as new pet parents. The costs are high but reasonable for the emergency nature of the services, and the staff have been enormously helpful and professional. We really hope our visits to them are done but if we do have any other incidents then we feel confident we’re in good hands.

westside emergency has been amazing with my dog who had passed last year. this review is long overdue, but they’ve managed to help save his life when he was 10, and gave him almost 4 more amazing years with us. we are forever grateful to their caring vets and nurses, and for taking such great care of our dog, buddy! we also returned recently with our other dog who ingested a foreign object, and they managed to care for him and get him to vomit it out within the hour. thank you again for your help!

The most professional services we had ever experienced. Each and every vet was calm, polite and really passionate in intensive care. Their communication was clear and they were willing to repeat and clarify all questions we had. Thank you for the best experience during a very difficult time over the last 2 days. You are doing a great job here.

My cat, Cai was restless and drooling for 2 hours and even vomited. Rushed him to Westside Emergency for A&E treatment and the vet says that his vitals are stable and the most well among the patients tonight. We can bring him home to monitor and the vet did not charged us at all. Thank you so much doc and staff at Westside Emergency.. though I did not see the doc but their staff is very professional and caring. I am very thankful that you made my mind at peace knowing that my boy is fine. I will monitor him and hopefully he gets well by tonight. Suspected culprit - too much catnip.
