Bizen Okayama Wagyu Steakhouse

Mac and cheese was served at room temperature not even lukewarm. Informed the staff and she gave me a plate to put the food on (presumably for the kitchen to reheat). She returned with a warm plate later on. The short rib cut had an overall of 30-40% fat? Some parts had like 70% fat. How is that even edible? Any proper steakhouse would know to trim the steak of excess fats. Staff already knew what feedback were we going to give, asking “too much fat?”to which we replied yes and she said “okay”. End of story. 1 star for the tasty mushroom side.

Good wagyu beef and good sides with interesting flowing water tables decor. We enjoyed our sinner and I would return. Would get 5 stars if they refill our ocha with hot water but they didn’t do that.

The rib eye steak is quite nice but the iberico pork is very tough so minus 1 star. I like the sides of fries which is light and crispy, the trio mushroom also not bad. Would visit again.

First time coming to Bizen with my wife and we definitely know after today it’s the last time we will be visiting this place. First things first, the actual menu and the menu you see via your smartphone after scanning the QR code isn’t exactly the same. Couldn’t order some items because it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. Food arrived quickly, which was good. But the taste is otherwise. The Wagyu Don is too sweet and the egg really looks disappointing, so overall it isn’t a great experience eating the Don. Rating: 2/5 The Wagyu Beef Stew isn’t that wow as well, taste is fairly okay but the cost, which $14.90 is not justifiable for the portion size. Which I feel I would only pay $4.90 for this. Rating: 2/5 Lastly, I ordered an additional main to try just for the benefit of doubt. The grilled pork loin. But oh boy was I disappointed. For $23.90, I was served two luncheon meat sizes of “pork loin” with mushrooms and fake “bacon” Mac & cheese. Pork loin was dry, hard. Max & cheese too salty, and the mushrooms also were too dry. Wouldn’t even want to pay more than $9.90 for this. Rating: 1/5 Service was fair. But definitely a non-comeback experience. Overall final rating: 1/5

One of worst experience to have a decent meal & especially to celebrate birthday for a staff who works hard! We ordered Iberico Pork Chop with Fries+Wedges as sides & Ribeye steak with Mashed Potatoes & Mac+cheese. Now, take a look at the receipt & the presentation of the food pics. They actually mixed up the main dish with our sides. Do you know what a grave mistake for a reputable restaurant to make? Not everyone eats beef due to religious beliefs. The bday boy said it doesn't matter, simply switch the main dish over as he's the one having the pork chop. We were already extremely disappointed when your QR code Food order system was slow & sluggish, and I tried 3 times with reorder of our food & sides with different credit cards yet we still cannot get our order through and we waited for your staff to get to us, but no one was interested. Finally, we called out to one of the old uncle who was very friendly & attentive to us when we walked in, informed him about ordering issue, he immediately checked with the kitchen & told another female staff that our order didn't go through, end up she took our order manually & the rest of story unfold from the start of this review. ??? Pork was dry & overcooked Ribeye was cooked according to doneness but wasnt what I expected for this Steakhouse to provide. There was better places that provide great Ribeye such as iSteak & Aston premium steaks are also better.

Visited Bizen on 4 Feb for lunch. Ordered the Iberico Pork Chop and Ribeye steak. The portion of the pork chop was quite small, which is not the main issue. The meat is very dry, tough, and tasteless. Tired chewing the pork thus we gave up finishing the food. The ribeye was not too bad, soft, but there was a huge chunk of fats in the middle, which was inedible for me. And for the beef standard, $52.50 for the steak was on the high side. The pork cost us $25.50. I can get better steak at other restaurants, probably a tendeloin. Service wise, it was so so, staff weren't very friendly, look very bored and unhappy working there but not rude. Not much initiative. Most likely, I won't visit again. I hope the management can do something about it.

Friendly staff who recommended this part of the beef, Denver. It is simply amazing! It melts in your mouth. If you are unsure which cut of the beef, do approach the staff. They are more than willing to help. Onion ring and Mac n Cheese don’t go wrong. Hot green tea is refillable with hot water but it’s just normal. Will be great if the cold green tea is refillable.

I hardly use superlative terms in my review. For once, i am making an exception. Bizen @ Funan is probably the BEST no frill wagyu steak house in Singapore. It met and exceeded my expectations in almost all category. From value, doneness accuracy, taste, choice of cuts (yes many secondary but great cuts) and taste. It's simply awesome! Delivery from butcher to the table done right. My only regret? Why did i procrastinated so long before making my first visit. Verdict : highly recommended.
