Defu Veterinary Clinic - Hougang Ave 3

Brought my dog here for her spay, the vet (young Indian lady with Australian accent) is extremely skilled - used inner stitches that would dissolve cleanly rather than the ugly outer stitches that would have had to be (painfully) removed. All that's left after 3 months is an almost invisible scar on her tummy, with no complications. Staff are also always sweet and patient, no grumpy aunties/uncles.

Clinic was unprofessional. They say they only accept appointment basis. After telling them it was an emergency case and was told that "oh my vet is doing outpatient and i'm not too sure what time the dog will take, so bring your dog to another clinic". Next time just be frank will do and we will understand.

Being a customer from the start I got my puppy. my puppy hasn't been recovering from her cough.. recently found spots on her body again. Defu vet Doctor didn't manage to find an answer to what's causing the problem. Lucky by an owner I was recommended to other vet. In the first visit, the doctor manage to find out the cause of the spot under the microscope, unlike Defu vet do nothing but only words.And Defu vet, they could have done more further check ups or give soemthing to stop the spots or some medication, other then say to monitor for few weeks. Email them that the spots has been spreading but didn't reply. Shows a lot for being a responsible Vet..... Pretty disappointing. will not come back to Defu Vet again. And do not recommend to other pet owners.

My dogs have been visiting this clinic ever since they are young. Just so happen that we needed a vet badly because my dog became very weak and loss of appetite. With current COVID situation, we do understand. But two calls made to your clinic, first call was my mum calling up to enquire. You told her due to COVID, appointments are fully pack till tomorrow, and when she ask is it possible to a slot one in because my dog is very weak now, you replied with “my vet has yet to see your dog, so unable to prioritise a slot” lol?? If seen, will we need you to slot one in? I called after that, because we are already outside of the clinic even before your “opening” at 10am. Told you was emergency as my dog is weak now. But, your story changed to “MY VET IS DOING OUTPATIENT”. Good job really. This is how you all educate your staff. Telling me if emergency, bring to another vet la. Oh definitely, you’re so being boycotted. So compassionate really.

I went to the Defu Veterinary Clinic a few hours ago and I wanted them to cut my dogs nails since it was too long. When they finished cutting my dog's nails, it was bleeding. They cut it too short and it started to bleed a lot after I went back home. This is unacceptable for a veterinary clinic to make my dog bleed. He kept licking his bleeding nail as it was too painful to watch. I would never recommend to cut my dog's fingernails at Defu Veterinary Clinic or even recommend anyone to go to Defu Veterinary Clinic to cut their dog's fingernails. One star!

Friendly nurse and vet. Honest on their service. Affordable price. Those who drive, plenty of parking lots ,just behind the shop. Opposite is coffee shop. You will not regret se ding your pets here. Common Cats, Dogs, Rabbits. Not sure give them a ring.

Hi. I have been to defu vet for the past year for my dogs skin condition. My dog had an allergic reaction and had a rash all over his body. Dr Katherine patiently explained to me all possible ways to treat my dog and her what she recommends. She treated Theo with an incredible amount of patience and care and she was the only vet my dog was not terrified of and actually warmed up to her very well. After working with Dr Katherine for months, she has managed to treat my dogs skin condition very effectively. However, it has come to my attention that she has actually left defu vet clinic. When theo developed a reddish eye that had discharge coming out of it, i brought him back to defu vet and was appointed to Dr Darlene. She showed no compassion whatsoever towards theo. When i describe the symptoms my dog was having, she did a dye test for his eye to detect the presence of an ulceration. There was no detected ulceration present. However, she still insisted on treating my dogs eye with medication for ulcers despite me questioning. She was very quick to brush of my questions. She did not even instruct and demonstrate to me how i was supposed to apply the solcoseryl eye gel into my dogs eyes. Moreover, when i asked if she could cut my dogs nails, she asked me rudely why i couldnt do it myself. When I requested that if its okay that she does it, she told two of her assistants to cut my dogs nails. My dog put up such a fit and they were actually Yelling at him. He was so TERRIFIED and scared and refused to stay still. Instead of easing him into it, after cutting 2 toenails she said that i should take him to the groomers instead. The worst has yet to come. Upon administering the medication to my dog, the discharge producing from his eye tripled and his eye became even more swollen. Hair around his eye started to fall off and RIGHT NOW, he has no hair around his right eye!!! I am disgusted. She could have ATLEAST warned me about the possible side effects. Upon reading up, i found out that possible allergic reactions were as such. I am just so displeased with the service here. The only reason this place has such a good rating is definitely because of Dr Katherine. Now thats shes gone, i dont see the need to come back here ever.

The Vets really took time to understand my Dog. Even going to the extend of cheering him on. He usually needs a muzzle but at the clinic he was fond of everyone. Very affordable. And they were not afraid to get their hands dirty. Very happy with Dr. Kathrine. Highly recommend . This is my first time writing a review for anything because I truly feel it's worth it.
