Sinpopo Brand @ Funan - 107 North Bridge Rd

Technically 4.5 stars ? We got this Mao Shan Wang Durian cake for our brother’s birthday and love it sooo much! It’s really yummy and all of us enjoyed it a lot. It can get a little jelak if you eat too much of it at once, since it’s pretty rich. But we simply kept the leftovers and eat it the next day. I love the top layer the best as it had both the rich flavour of the durian and the texture too ? Tip: we placed it in the freezer for awhile to make it extra cold! The reason why I didn’t want to give it 5 stars is because they didn’t give me a carrier to carry the box of cake when I went to collect it. I was a little worried that the cake would be ruined on the way home as I had to take a bus back home. It would be helpful if they let customers know beforehand (on their website when customers order a cake), that bags will not be given to us. I would have brought along my own. Overall, I would definitely come back to try the other cake flavours! Can’t wait! ?

I am not a coffee lover but decide to get it a try. Found this pulut hitam latte on the menu and ordered cold (iced). It tasted exactly like pulut hitam but slightly sweet for me. Overall is ok.

The gula melaka cake was great and not too sweet and would recommend. However, can the owners do something about the tea cup?! It is really tiny and customers are expected to walk a huge round out of the seating area to the other end of the shop where the barista is for more hot water. It is extremely inconvenient and thoughtless. Furthermore, the barista and staff manning the cashier seems to have overly clearly defined roles where the cashier doesn’t even allow a customer to pass a cup over or collect drinks from her end and kept pointing customers to the other end. Perhaps the service journey can be relooked into to make more sense for the customer. While the cakes/drinks are good, the general experience was truly off putting.

The Pandan kaya cake is very pretty like a water color landscape but the taste is more impressive . Once you take a mouthful of the cake , the delicate Pandan fragrance is in every bite and you don’t find it overwhelmingly sweet . We tried the gula Melaka cake as well, it’s a spongy cake texture topped with glacéd gula melaka on the surface . This is one cakeshop which I will come back for more . .

Tried the festive special - Xmas Red Velvet with Caramel Cream Cheese cake. My verdict is that those with a sweet tooth will definitely love it. Heartfelt thanks to Ming Hui for his excellent customer service beyond our expectations.

Located at the ground level of Funan Mall, alight at City Hall MRT and make a 10 minutes walk along St Andrew's Cathedral. You will be able to see Funan at the end of the sheltered pathway. I have never heard of this brand of cafes but to my surprise, there are currently quite a few outlets in Singapore. Head into the middle of the mall and you will be able to see a permanent pop up store. The decorations will seem posh and classy, you can rest your mind that the prices on the menu will not scare you. The amount you will pay is justified for the quality you are getting. I tried the traditional Blackforest and Red Velvet cake coated with cheese. Both cakes are fluffy and very tasteful. Their special cheese brings out a better version of Red Velvet. Steer clear if you are not a avid cheese fan. They have quite a few traditional flavors made into a cake but with their own twist. Come along and try it for yourself.

Contrary to the popular opinions on Google reviews, I actually can’t find a reason to beat down the store. ? the value proposition may not be the best, considering they market and sell their common kopi, tea and milo at $5-6 range ☕️ ordered the cappuccino and had no qualms with it, proper tone of coffee taste and wasn’t too acidic - just the way I like it Probably wouldn’t come back specially for this, but I won’t have any issues returning if I’m in the area looking for a coffee place ??

Been there a few times but never get a chance to dine there because they just don't have the cake I wanted to try. Finally the chance when I saw the final piece of the Mao Shan Wang cake! Takes a lot of tries to eat the cake because the staff do not usually want to cut the whole cakes and they just want to sell those which already has been cut, so usually head there with either a particular one unavailable or uncut. Also ordered the dark chocolate cake which looked weird to be because they had the blackberry on top, which doesn't seem to match or was it just for the sake of the colour? Enjoyed the cake the MSW one was pretty rich and the durian was thick, and the dark chocolate one was good too! It was generally chocolatey but the most enjoyable layer was the black one on the top. The flat white was okay and so was the pulut hitam latte. Tasted a bit artificial and like bubble tea. The guy serving the counter had a bit of attitude problem. Was talking to the customer in front of me and he rolled eyes twice. Kinda rude and I suppose the customer didn't see it else there might be a commotion already.
