โ โ โ โ โ Didnt know it was only the 2nd day of opening for this outlet! Have been to the other outlet at Suntec City few weeks ago and liked it thus walked in to it at GWC. This appetiser in the image is awesome.
I don't eat ladies fingers at all but had a 2nd serving! I also thought that the staff didn't allow for 2nd serving until he came to check in on me and I merely mentioned abt it and he gave me another. HIs service certainly made my day! He also gave us another radish appetiser and it was definitely useful in helping rid the cloying feel from the tempuras ? ? (it is a usual feel after having too much)
As it was not crowded, we got seated v quickly but do be prepared for wait time for the food to be served (at the Suntec Outlet as well).
Service from staff was awesome too! I noticed another staff wearing a bib for a toddler which the dad appreciated!
Though one thing to note: I personally prefer the older menu before the change. ?

โ โ โ โ โ Wanted to try newly open. Food was ok, although the batter was a bit hard (for me). Portion was reasonable size (for its price). My food came in 2 batches. The second one came 30 mins later (based on time ordered).

โ โ โ โ โ Easily one of the most delicious tendon you can find in SG. Tempura batter was light and crispy. Ingredients used were very fresh too and we enjoyed every single piece. The Soba and udon were also very good. Its a little bit on the pricier side compared to other tendon places but Iโd say its worth it for the quality and ingredients you get. Will definitely come back!

โ โ โ โ โ Chance upon this new tempura restaurant. It was good. I like it that the tempura was light but crispy without the oily sensation. The inaniwa udon was nicely done too. Will return.

โ โ โ โ โ Food was excellent - easily the best tempura at this price point. Scallops, oyster, egg plant and mushroom were my personal favourites. Service was also exceptional. Would definitely return!

โ โ โ โ โ Our first time at a speciality tempura restaurant.
We ordered a Prawn and Vegetable Tempura Platter, Makino Special Tendon and a hot Inaniwa Udon. Among the tempura items we tried, we like the vegetable tempuras better. Particularly the french bean, mushroom and pumpkin tempura. The prawn tempura and squid tempura were good as well.
However Anago tempura was slightly fishy for us. Another interesting tempura item was the egg tempura, it was served with its yolk still runny and was really tasty. The Inaniwa Udon was good as well, the Udon had a springy texture.
Overall we enjoyed the tempura at Makino Tempura and would definitely return whenever we are craving for tempura.

โ โ โ โ โ We came here for dinner the other night. The interior was nice and clean and there was no smell of oil, which was nice. We were seated promptly, even without a reservation, and ordered a few dishes. The portions were fairly large and the food was tasty and well presented, though the sauce for the tempura was on the salty side. The batter was light and crispy. The pickles could be a little better. The shredded carrot didnโt quite do it for me. Overall, however, Iโd say it was good value and we were happy with the meal. They could perhaps have a few more set menu options but it was okay. Service was decent. I would rate them above average overall and a decent option to have in the neighborhood.
