Ya Kun Family Cafe

30th May 2022 5.10 pm - wanted to send order a set with coffee and bread but the staff who took my order says they only left with drink which is coffee. It’s only 5.10 pm and the guys said there are totally no food not even bread to be served?what kind of family cafe is that ? Well I can understand at times there are no rice and noodles sets available but not bread. This is totally unacceptable and ridiculous. Yakub family cafe management don’t allow outside food but your staff at compass one can have the cheek to tell customer today no food at all today is it fair to your loyal customer who always patronised yakun cafe at compass one ?

I love their coffee, sit down relax and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Food is not too bad but system for seating made the wait much more unbearable. We had 4 adults and one baby but we're informed there that only 4 pax can seat at a table (not indicated anyway). Food is done pretty fast, toast is good but egg doneness lacks consistency. Drinks are good, just the teh c was too sweet that it lacks tea taste.

I like drinking tea and coffee at Toast Box and I used to like ya Kun too. Today I went there with my kid to their compass 1 and took some sponge cake with me so that I can feed my 2 year old kid. But the rude staff told me no outside food… my worst experience ever and they strictly told me cannot eat outside food and then I had to buy their rubbish bread toast.. total rubbish shop, if there was a minus five star, I would have given that..

GRAB Ya Kun steam bread set from compass one. Wow, I was impressed that my kopi was cling wrapped and still hot when I received. Even my soft boiled eggs were in a cling wrap container. My steam bread was presented nicely in a plastic box. Love my tea break so much! Thank you Ya Kun Compass One. Well done!

Thanks for the wonderful takeaway packing. Second time in a row where my request to use cling wrap was ignored to which I didn’t pursue. As I commute to Compass One via bicycle, the journey is a little bumpier thus my reasoning for cling wrap packing as what I understand is being done for food delivery orders. While food quality was still good, it doesn’t help that I’m paying full price for about 50% of the coffee. How can dis b allow? Refer to photo attached. Update 27/11/2021: The branch contacted me saying that they will take note of this incident and will ensure requests are fulfilled. Went there today 27/11/2021 and yes they are taking it more seriously now. Amending my review from a 1 to 5 star because this Ya Kun branch’s food quality is still very good. I have to say that despite the mediocre ratings of this Ya Kun branch, they are still very much getting the crowds, so good job guys.

I think is really costly to have a kopi plus a small piece of cake at Ya Kun these days but still, the queue went non-stop on weekend. While queueing, the staff in charge kept letting people not on the queue to enter via side entrance & when it was my turn i got to wait for a seat to be available. Then while I was still drinking my kopi, the same uncle kept standing beside me waiting to clear the table…. I am not sure if proper training was ever given but he definitely made my visit to Ya Kun Compass One a “memorable” one ?

I think the guy who do the tea is new. Tea was tasteless. Used to have this experienced uncle. Miss his tea. Other than that all is good. Very fast and efficient Opens early.
