Canton Paradise Noodle & Congee House @ Westgate

Granted it's a busy night for the restaurant, the dishes were overall inconsistent. Some turned out quite well (vegetables and cold dishes specifically), however the fried rice came out too dry, and the pancake was over fried. Service is still great, they were very accommodating and helpful. Hope that they can recover the food quality.

Order a bowl of fish noodles. Presentation on the menu looks good. The broth was good, and appetising. But the fish used was a disappointment. It uses the cheap Vietnam catfish to that is branded a Pacific Dory not nowhere near real John Dory. Vietnam catfish are farm and crowded filthy water and feed with lots of antibiotics. Paradise should not be serving this fish.

The food here is okay, it's nothing special. It's decently priced especially if you get the buy one get 1 50% off main meals. However one of my pet peeves is when you don't get enough of a dish to cover the rice they give you and you have to ration the dish to cover the rice. In this case, the char siu rice is just 5 smallish pieces of meat that you have to ration over a large bowl of rice, with some vegetables and an egg. There just isn't enough of the dish/meat to cover the rice. If the dish came with 7 to 8 char siu pieces, it would probably be OK. I felt fairly unsatisfied with the portion size.

Cannot recommend this place enough for its delicious and value-for-money food. Tucked away in the corner before the bridge to the hospital, you might just miss it. Porridge, Noodles, Rice sets, drinks and snacks all delicious and reasonable priced. Definitely will visit again.

Located in Westgate Mall. Decent variety of food items sold. You could try the HK dim sum, Roasted Meat, Congee too. Though the variety for dim sum was lesser than other places, the other variety made up for the shortfall. Reasonably price food. Great place to try congee and the noodle, in HK style. Strongly recommended.

Located in Westgate, alight at green MRT line Jurong East Interchange and take the exit towards Ng Teng Fong while passing through the second level of Westgate, you will be able to locate Canton Paradise right beside Paradise Dynasty. They are a subsidiary of Paradise Dynasty which offers deliciously great food at an affordable price. Most of their main dishes are priced at SGD9 to SGD12 and during lunch hours, they have promotions like their ongoing deal offering 50% discount of the dish that is of lower price. At other times, they have discounts for NTF staff and credit card discounts. Their only problem is during peak hours, it's obvious their staff are overwhelmed with customers and trying diligently to cope with the crowd thus ending up with lackluster service delivery. In my opinion I consider their menu being generally delicious. The fragrance and taste are definitely worth the price you are paying for. Their ingredients used for their dishes are quite premium and their preparation methods are thoughtful. I personally like their Mesmerizing Char Siew Rice bowl and I hope they will have an option to upsize the portion of the char siew served since the standard amount in each bowl only consists of 5 or 6 thick slices. I highly recommend dropping by and trying their rice bowls as your main.
