β β β β β Finally found out the reason for the long queue. Awesome Japanese food at cheap prices. I go straight for the sashimi rice bowl. It's 9 slices of salmon for $7 dollars. Can't find a better pricing else where. ?

β β β β β I ordered from the app only, 7 dishes. All were delicious except the soft shell crab. Tasted of flour, very disappointing for $7.
Service was horrible, the waitress came at the 50mins mark and told us our time was up. I rang them up 2 times (i think 40mins mark?) to ask for more soya sauce but no one came.
I ordered so much, 50mins how to eat. Staffs should be more flexible in extending the time to bigger eaters.

β β β β β Located on the 2nd level of Bugis Junction, take the green line to Bugis MRT and walk towards Intercontinental hotel. Once you locate the exit facing Liang Seah street, take the escalator up to the 2nd level and you will be greeted by Sushi Plus.
Sushi Plus is a new concept by Sushi Express where they serve better varieties of Japanese sushi from those offered at Sushi Express. This concept definitely comes at a higher price. They do still serve white plates at $1.50 but they have options of other plates at $2. You can order from a wide variety of dishes in the menu using the QR code provided and your menu will be served to you on a dedicated lane just for your table. Don't be surprised if those dishes from the menu are cheaper than picking off the plates on the conveyor belt.
In my opinion, I would rather choose this concept. Just by paying a little more, you get much fresher, tastier and a wider variety of Japanese sushi dishes. Just an example that I have tried is the salmon sashimi slices are thicker and fresher over here. Other exquisite sushi dishes are prepared much better than usual. My current visit has truffle as a specialty, their truffle chawanmushi is fabulous and accompanied with shredded crab. The truffle served with raw scallop sushi is such a nice combination. Only their truffle fries is a disappointment, it tasted like mayonnaise fries.
My only concern is there will always be a queue here and the wait will be an average of 30 minutes or more. Hope there will be more outlets in Singapore!

β β β β β This place is a hybrid of Genki Sushi and Sushi Express. You can order from the menu (online) or take from the belt. Price of the food from the belt range from $1.5 to $2 each depending on the color of the plate. Food taste is normal but the beef don from the menu taste bland. Otherwise overall dinning experience still not bad as I went quite early without any queue.

β β β β β The food selection was pathetic and same kind of selection is on the belt. Spoke to the staff - a man and he explained that, it takes time for the kitchen to clean and prepare. And they are busy in the kitchen for lunch time. The time is now 1433hrs and past lunch time and yet selection is poor.
The chicken yakitori was cold, not fresh and chicken tasted soft and squishy. Yucky ?
I will never come back here again. Greatly disappointed especially since it is by the same chain as Sushi Express. Waste of time and money. If this goes on, they will be closing down in 3 months time.

β β β β β Iβm a big fan of Sushi Express so I had high hopes for SushiPlus, but the variety on the conveyor belt is pathetic so it forces you to order from their pricier menu. I do believe that for that same reason, the dishes I got from the belt are not freshly prepared either.
The mentaiko on the fries taste bad but at least the fries are fresh? The colour is suspiciously bright. I do prefer Genkiβs mentaiko fries.
I also ordered the pork don and lava cheese beef don. The pork don came with the foulest smell and I actually gagged just getting a whiff of it. I called the waiter to ask if the meat was spoilt or rotten but he reassured me it was meant to smell that way. Nonetheless I did not eat it. We didnβt get to try the beef don because we immediately noticed that part of the meat was raw (please refer to picture) and sent it back. We decided not to take our chances and cancelled that item instead of having it recooked.
I can see why the 1-star reviews talk about the hygiene though, I was terribly afraid I would get food poisoning from either the conveyor belt sashimi, the foul-smelling pork, or the undercooked beef.
To their credit, the staffβs service is decent. I do regret the food here, though I have yet to suffer any disease from this experience. Final verdict: I would rather pay a little more to have a nicer experience at Genki. I feel bad because it felt like everyone else was having a nicer time. I donβt understand the long queues outside this place.

β β β β β One of the place Iβll go for a quick meal. The thick salmon was okay, but the cuts were not very well cut. Giant crabstick was delicious, did not expect the garlic clams comes with udon, the soup was below warm not hot but the taste was good though.
