β β β β β Love this place. Reminds me of blade runner or cyberpunk with the futuristic Japanese ambience.
Food is excellent! Gotta try their beef fried rice and cold pasta. Service is amazing as well, no complaints there.
Itβs a family friendly place with sake, so thereβs something for everyone.

β β β β β An absolute gem in the far east!
The experience I had when we visited on a Saturday evening was perfect. The food was delectable and very well-presented. The raw food was fresh and cooked food was delicious. Everything about this restaurant impressed us, especially the service provided by the staff.
I was warmly greeted and ushered to our table, and immediately offered a drink. Food was served promptly, it didn't feel like we waited at all. Our cups were consistently replenished by the impeccably groomed and attentive staff, our cups were never empty. Staff attended to our requests promptly, with a smile and with urgency.
When we requested for our birthday cake that was kept in the fridge, they came nicely presented with lighted candles and they wished my friend a happy birthday. (In past experiences, we usually had to arrange the candles and light them up ourselves. Lol. )
All in all it was a pleasure dining in this restaurant. Everything was tip-top!
Special thanks to Rizal, Melissa and all the service crew for making our birthday celebration a wonderful experience.
PS. Food isn't as economical as what the other restaurants in Downtown East offered, but it was worth every penny!

β β β β β Really enjoyed the place. Really good food. Decent service. It's a tad pricy, similar to town pricing, but still absolutely worth it.
Ambience is a little dim and it sticks out of place compared to the surroundings. But it shines in its own way because of that.
The waitress very naturally presented the menu and recommended items. Ordering was a little hard considering the table was in a secluded corner away from foot traffic.
Food came decently quickly. Have got to say that presentation is really simple, but still excellent. The way they manage to make food taste so good, yet look so simple is amazing.
Can't explain enough that the price paid is justified, in the quality and taste of the food. Service was also well.
Would recommend to go for food anytime, gatherings of small or big.

β β β β β Great take-away dinner from Gaku Sushi Bar to celebrate my mother's birthday. Food was delicious, fresh, and well-presented. We all enjoyed the dinner and would order again. Special mention to the staff, Nareenth and Dayat, who made our take-away experience so easy, fuss-free and pleasant. Their helpfulness and friendliness really made my day :) Can't wait for my next meal at Gaku! They have some really good deals this season!

β β β β β Hidden gem at Downtown East. Saw articles on this place and decided to give it a try, definitely worth it. Casual and chic vibes with a good array of Japanese dishes. Had a good, satisfying dinner here. Waitstaff was friendly as well! Will return!

β β β β β Yummy n fresh food for 14-course omakase. At $42++/pax, it's totally worth it!
Super filling n the dishes are so pretty too!
A pity no dessert as a sweet ending for the omakase...

β β β β β Food is good. Alittle language barrier over the CNY period. Pls be aware the advocado voucher 20% can only be used on non sashimi ala cart items. I wish that's communicated before I place my items when I presented the voucher.

β β β β β Crazy good experience dining at Gaku Sushi Bar @ Downtown East! So many things to talk about, really really love this place ^^
Staff at Gaku was really friendly and helpful. Appreciate the staff members who took time to explain the backstory behind the opening of Gaku, a brilliant move to cope with the pandemic when it was at itβs peak back then!
Food was really delicious at Gaku. Two meals here thus far, and what I tasted was consistency, food just as awesome as the first time we had it! ^^
Favourite items: Foie gras foie gras foie gras, the way it melts and the oil seeps down into the rice, amazing! Other highlights include HUGE oysters as well as the mentai bowl.
Already thinking about my next visit! :D
